A multi-vitamin.

Garlic or a garlic pill (since you don't wanna stink... the pills are odorless!)

Fresh ginger.

The last two are anti-inflammatories and can help settle it. I have a sore throat, too, right now. >_>

First, gargle with salt water for the infection. Or, use some medicated mouth and throat wash like cepacol or sterisol. Suck zinc lozenges and chewable vitamine C tablets and drink rosehip tea, bottled water and fruit juice. Another good alternative is hot water, cider vinegar and honey. And try to refrain from talking until you are ready for the debate/interview.

very easy. Sore throat is usually due to a viral infection. Gargling with warm salty water or mouthwash can reduce the pain and inconvenience. You can find some good home remedies at http://ailments.in/sorethroat.html

All the best for your debate.
