yes, because he is one of best player in indian team.and he bowls well.he is only indian player who scored more than 300 runs in the test mathes.and he is an experinced player.so i think he will be the opener.and he has scored very well in last icc world cup.

Sehwag is an attacking batsman and can demoralise any bowling attack in the world when he is in form. He can also be used as a part time bowler, who can not only bowl economically, but also can take wicket. He has been a match winner for India on many occasions in the past.
Though his form has declined of late, persoon of such a potential cannot be ignored easily as he is capable of winning matches on his own when he comes to his form. Captain and Selectors have kept faith on him with a hope that he will regain his form and start firing by the time world cup starts. I do not find anything wrong in his selection.

I think selecting Sehwag is a very calculative risk and it will work in india's favor. If Sehwag is dropped then who will be considered for his spot? Kaif? Raina? or Laxman? Even a failed Sehwag can score more runs than Kaif and Raina combined plus he can help in bowling while Laxman is a bad fielder and only a batsman. Sehwag's selection also opens up an opportunity to open the innings with many options. If his chances of succeeding are 50/50 even then I think his selection is justified.

Yes. He is the type of player a side needs in a World Cup. He is aggressive, and if he gets going he can tear apart the other team. Anyway, its no use debating about it, he has already been selected and we will have to see how he performs.

in recent times , BCCi gave chances to yuvraj, harbhajan etc.,

no it is not at all right to select him
Let us have a klook at options
we could have replaced him by-gambhir/powar/laxman/d.mongia
they say he is selected as all rounder the way he is batting powar can score more runs then him and obviouslly powar can bowl better then him.
gambhir if not as an opner then he can play even in middle order.
laxman as ussual could have added strength to indian middle order(which broke away on sunday's game against slanka thanks to sehwag)
if we needed an all rounder why not dinesh mongia he can bat anywhere in the line-up and be handy with ball as well(proven in england county)mongia's slow pace would have been handy in w.indian conditions.

It is right to select sehwag.
he is a match winner.
when we are taking the risk by selecting new player like utthapa, karthik, out of form pathan, and injured yuvi, then risk on sehwag is worthtaking.
one thing is sure if sehwag gets his form in wc , he can win it for us. his bowling ability is bonus.
so don't ask about his selection' pray for his better show.
"form is temporary but class is permannent" which sehwag has..................

Why don't you ask that taking a 3 year child in the Indian cricket team is better or not as a child can play better than SEHWAG.

no it is very wrong. sehwag is not a match winner, either he is not a big scorer then why he is in the world cup squad. we can select raina or kaif because they are match winners and when india needs runs they do their work, but sehwag in my point of view he is useless
