if i was to move out of my home can my husband charge me with abandoment of the home? and i get nothing for it when it sells? i'm in a bad, and abusive marriage..... what should i do?

the day of closing i went to sign the papers to be on the deed.... when the deed arrived i was not on it, the lawyer said it was a mistake.... the mistake was never corrected........ we are legally married.... i do live in this home..... if i leave do i not get half of the home since my name is not on the deed?

Leave, and go to the police. If you have some sort of report against him I don't see how you can be charged for abandonment of the house when you have a good reason for it. No matter what, you are still part owner of that house, if he wants to sell it he will need you to sign papers as well. Get a separation agreement drawn up to protect all your rights.
Just get out right away and seek a lawyer.

First thing, get out. If it's abusive get out. File a police report to document the abuse, that way if it comes before a judge there is a history. I doubt any judge would grant an abuser sole owenership and selling rights if his wife left him to protect herself. But you do need to get it on record.

leave and see a lawyer and you file for divorce and ask for half the proceeds of everything . the lawyer will see to the rest of it . good luck honey . also mention the fact that he was abusive.
