Religious reasons: Most popular Christian religions (Catholicism, Baptism, Presbyterianism, Lutheranism) and Buddhist sects do not dictate any reasons for differentiating btw the genders for a gyno but for more orthodox followers of stricter sects of other religions, such as Islam, would be advised to choose a female gyno for reasons of limited female nudity to non-family males.
Psychological reasons: Personal comfort level.

Yes, there are many that choose a woman for both religious and psychological reasons. Some still feel a man is a better doctor no matter what. It is an indiviual thing.

Hmm... is would say preference here. I chose a female gynecologist because i was more comfortable with that. I had a male one when i was younger and he just seemed more crass and rude. I didn't want that again. The female doctor I have now is the best!

Well this is to depend on individual. Some of my friends prefer female gyne, while I prefer a male gyne. My male gyne is a 40+-50+ man with expierence. This is not something to be shy. The most important is you must be comfort about it.

Many times women prefer females...There's no reason medically.. however you are in a pretty vulnerable spot at the gyno and osmetimes women feel uncomfortable if a man is lookign at them.. religoulsy there are reasons because they see you naked or close to naked.. and in many religons women can't be seen by men
