Strange cravings and mood swings are normal with pregnancy. When my fifth grade teacher's wife was pregnant, she was constantly getting angry for no reason and was always craving Cream of Wheat, which he said she usually hated.

Demerara sugar is not that weired.

Sometime during pregnancy you crave what your body needs in order to keep the baby well. These cravings cannot be ignored unfortunately.

Whilst i was pregnant i craved Coal and loved the smell of new training shoe's and strawberry soaps.

Now that's weired

Whilst pregnant I ate
Wotsits (about 5 packs a day)
Cream cheese, Branston Pickle and Corned beef sandwiches (eek) every day for lunch. Work thought i'd totally lost the plot. I would be extremely nauseous if i even smelled my two fave foods which I love which are Stuffing and Black pudding!!!

dont be scared as its not that bad, there was a case where a pregnant woman craved petrol... she put it on a tissue and ate the tissue... so demerera sugar isnt that bad.

As for the moodieness its normal with homones all over the place.

i'm one of the lucky ones with all of my pregnacies i havent had any cravings at all... or morning sickness...

Just have a little chat with your mum and let her know that your feeling a little scared and tell her why?

good luck!

It's normal for a woman to crave strange things while she is pregnant. You need not worry unless she starts craving dirt or laundry detergent..(seriously)

it's normal for a pregnant women to have wierd food cravings so there is no need to worry. only worry if she starts eating toilet paper, dirt, laundry detergent.....anything that people shouldn't actually eat at all. it may sound crazy but this does happen to some people.
