The alarm goes off to wake me up but I just turn it off and go back to sleep. Thanks to me, I am late for school. I tried to stop this but I just can't.

I tried putting the alarm on for two hours earlier so I can go back to sleep or wake up and take my time but that seems to be worst idea because I see the clock that I have more time so I go back to sleep. And than, Wake up late, NOT having time for my breakfast. I just go to school.

In the day time or night time, I keep on telling myself, this morning it's going to be different but it's not, it's the same old thing. I am so disappointed in my own self. I am breaking my own promises.

I understand your situation all too well, lol.. I too hate the alarm clock and love my sleep. Try moving the alarm clock across the room so you have to actually get up. Another thing I have done (that worked at one time for me) is to set my time on my alarm clock ahead by like 30mins.. why you ask? Well ,when I semi-wake up I see it is 6:30 and go back to sleep (not realizing it is really 6:00), then wake up at 7:00 and freak out because I "overslept" , then I realize it is really 6:30 and I realize I am okay. Strange - sure is,lol - but my brain oviously doesn't function that well first thing in the morning...Good luck finding a remedy!

Try going to bed an hour or two earlier, but if you cant sleep, set your alarm clock for 5 minutes earlier, then hide it somewhere difficult to reach but so you can still hear it. like throw the clock ontop of your wardrobe the night before and make sure all the chairs are downstairs, so you actually have to go down stairs and by the time you get the chair all the way back to help you tp reach it, you will be wide awake garanteed! it actually works! lol

Hi,

The idea of keeping the alarm far off helps me. But you can also buy 2 alarms and set them for different timings 10-20 min apart or something. I even tried to keep my T.V. on ON-timer so it starts in the morning causing me to wake up to shut it off. Also try drinking lot of water before going to bed or whenever you wake up, so you'll need to use the washroom and you will really wake up.Funny isn't it how sleep takes over all over senses and priorities..Good luck!

Make sure the alarm is loud enough and put it across the room so you will have to get out of bed to turn it off. If you have the desire to crawl back into bed CHUG a glass of water first (leave it on the nightstand the night before).

These are all good ideas. There is something more that is going to be needed from you though. You are going to have to strengthen your mental resolve.

From this day forward, you will be led by your mind or you will be led by your body. Do you realize that, under normal circumstances, none of us want to get up in the morning... We make ourselves do it in spite of our bodies attempts to lure us back to sleep. You can take the advice of any of the responders above and possibly break this habitual behavior or, you can make your body subordinate to your mental powers and demand it to fall in line.
