Congrats! Since this is yoru first pregnancy, I wouldn't worry. Most first-time pregnant women feel the movement, but don't really know what it is. I finally had to ask my doctor what I was looking for...he said it felt like butterflies in my stomach. Every once in a while I'll feel something, but I'm still not sure!

You'll start feeling flutters within the next 4 weeks, as its your 1st time you may not even recognise the first movements right away. But try relaxing in bed or the bath lie with your hand on your stomach and 'tune in'.
In my first pregnancy it was around 22 weeks by the time I felt anything and I'm now 22 weeks again and have felt movement for the last 3 weeks. Everyone is different, but try not to worry. The scan at 20 weeks is excellent - very clear pictures and it will really put your mind at rest.
Good luck and enjoy your pregnancy!

I just kinda started to feel soft movements at 18 weeks I wasnt even sure if thats what i was feeling once I hit 20 weeks my baby's kicks were getting really noticeable and now that I'm 23 weeks I feel him move around lots

You probably won't feel your baby kick until sometime between 16 and 22 weeks, even though he started moving at 7 or 8 weeks and you may have already witnessed his acrobatics if you've had an ultrasound.

Veteran moms tend to notice those first subtle kicks — also known as "quickening" — earlier than first-time moms. (A woman who's been pregnant before can more easily distinguish her baby's kick from other belly rumblings, such as gas.)

Your build may also have something to do with when you'll be able to tell a left jab from a hunger pang. Thinner women tend to feel movement earlier and more often than women who carry more weight.

Well I'm 19 weeks pregnant with my second child, I can't remember when I first started my first move but I know that with this one I only started feeling it move constantly for the past couple of weeks to where my BF can also feel baby. But before that I would feel a little thump here and there. You may be feeling movements and thinking it's gas. Sometimes it is hard to tell but it's different for everybody. But usually if you feel something and you question whether or not that was your body or your baby most likely it was baby.

I wasnt really sure about the monement at 18 weeks. When I really distinguished the differences and felt my baby move, was at 20 weeks. So its fine but you should start feeling the baby soon. It is awesome. You could try putting a flashlight to your belly and see if you feel anything. It feels alot like fluttering until you get further along then it really feels like a kick or a punch. I wish you a happy and healthy pregnancy

Hello dear! This is my first pregnancy(since my last year MC)and I am 5months along. As the weeks went by, I was worried when I would feel my baby girls movements. At 19weeks, she started, and then she would kick every now and again for the next passing weeks. I am 23weeks now, and since my 22week, she WON`T stop! She is always dancing, or sucking her thumb. Your only 18weeks, your little peanut is still abit young(but is moving, even if you can`t feel it!)I betcha before your up and coming appt. You will feel something! GL and NO WORRIES!

some women don't feel any movement until they are 20-22 weeks along so i wouldn't worry so much yet. with my second baby, i didn't feel her move until i was 20 weeks pregnant and now she is a healthy 18 month old. if you feel really concerned about the well being of your baby i suggest that you call your obgyn and maybe they will let you go in and they will check the baby's heart rate. good luck to you and congratulations.

You should really start feeling him/her any day now. I've been feeling my little man since about 16 weeks and I'm now 19 weeks and it's turning into kicks and getting stronger everyday. By the way, yes he is my first (some say you can't feel your first for awhile...I know I did). Some don't start feeling the baby until 20 weeks. One day soon it will happen, you wait and see!

Yes, it's normal, especially for a first child. You should start feeling it soon though, within the next few weeks.
When I started feeling mine, it was really faint flutters, and the first times I could feel it, I was actually leaning forward and the waistband on my pants was helping apply pressure and constricting the area so the movements were more detectable.

You will probably be ablt to feel you baby move in about 2 weeks or so. For some people it takes a while to be able to feel their baby moving, espacially if it is a first pregnancy. Don't worry it is perfectly normal.
