I would like to calculate the "average armspan of a person", by simply using the average height of a human.

Yes it is...and there are many others....did u know that the length between your elbow and wrist is the same as your foot?

Must be true I'am 6'2 and my length equals to 6'6 and I still have 5 more years to grow so I'll be Chewbaccas cousin in a few years.

it is not accurate but close. if you stand next to a wall and stretch your arms veritcally so that the top of your right hand is touching the floor and the left is as far up as possible then stand up while keeping your left hand where it is. the top of your head is around the same position as your left hand. not sure if you can follow this by just reading. good luck.

yes, it's true. holding your arms straight out from the shoulders, from the very tip of your fingers to the very tip of your other fingers equals your height.

this is of course barring any birth defects where arms and/or other body parts are not formed properly.
