How do conditional statements help you prove an argument?
I just need a simple answer for this. Nothing that will confuse me more than I already am. :-/

Conditional statements usually go:

If P, then Q

They help you prove an argument because, by the conditional proof method, you assume P is true, and try and make your way to prove Q is true. You can then conclude that if P, then Q.
