Undercooked egg or anything containing raw egg must be avoided. This includes mayonnaise, some ice creams and coleslaw.
Peanuts and anything containing peanuts should be avoided during pregnancy and breastfeeding. Eating them can cause the child to have an allergic reaction to them.
Soft cheeses, tuna and undercooked meat should not be eaten either.
Also, do not eat processed meat unless you heat it thoroughly first.
Any pregnant women that doesn't follow this list risks harming or even killing their unborn child. For your baby's sake, please be careful what you eat!

you can eat anything you want but tuna fish and lunch meats should be eaten in moderation. tuna fish contains mercury and i was told that it's ok to eat it 1- 2 times a week and that's the same for lunch meat because of a bactaria called listeria. you should also make sure that if you eat red meat that it is cooked all the way through and be sure that when you handle any kinds of raw meat that you throughly wash your hands before and after touching it. you should also watch you caffiene intake so try not to drink a lot of coffee or sodas that contain caffiene. those really are the only types of foods that i am careful about during pregnancy.

I agree with one of the above answerers....most of these answers are junk!! You can eat just about anything (My OB told me this too), some things would be safer in moderation though such as tuna (one can per week) Nuts and peanut butter are fine, mayo is fine, I ate plenty of both (and tuna) during my pregnancy and my little girl is beautiful and healthy.
They say don't eat lunch meat, I ate lots and baby was just fine. I also had a bad bladder infection that required my doc to put me on cipro ( a pregnancy class c antibiotic meaning its not really recommended during pregnancy) and my baby was just fine. It just goes to show that babies are more resilient then we think, and there is so much info out there that changes from day to day, telling us what we should and should not do during pregnancy. Much of it is cr*p. Just use your judgement and don't eat anything raw or undercooked that could make you yourself sick, then it is likely your baby would get sick.

What you can eat: - plenty of fresh fruit and veg and water. Make sure all your meats are throughly cooked.
What you can't eat: - unpasturized dairy products so home made mayo and soft cheese. Stilton is also a no. Nuts are banned as is alcohol. Small amount of caffine is okay (equiv to 4 mugs of tea, less for coffee)
Trying to eat when pregnant is difficult as you have to balance what won't make you sick against what seems like an emormous 'banned' list.
I did try to also avoid sugary drinks and drink plenty of water.
Good luck!

No No = peanuts (if you or your partner have allergies such as hay fever, asthma, eczema), under cooked eggs (all eggs must be hard boiled), home made mayonnaise as this could have uncooked eggs), shark, not to much tuna (max 3 tins a week, because of the amount of mercury) soft cheeses like feta and brie, liver, and deli meats/tinned hot dogs (because of listeria bacteria)
Healthy snacks = beans on toast, jacket potatoes, unsweetened cereals, fruit/veg

Most of the answers you've got so far are junk.
Really.
Nuts are fine if you're not allergic. Commercial mayonnaise is quite safe. Etc, etc.
Most of these things are only theoretically risky, or if actually risky, less risky than driving in a car.
Do your own research, and make up your own mind. There are _very_ few everyday things that're genuinely unsafe during pregnancy _in moderation_; that includes alcohol and caffeine.
edited to add: 'jojo''s answer right above mine is pretty sensible, though.

any foods are ok but there are some that should be avoided completely and some that should be eaten in low quantities. These foods change from time to time... Believe me its been different for nearly all my pregnacies.
have a look at this website it gives you a list. I was told salad cream and mayonase were ok as long as they were shop bought in jars/bottles but dont have it when you go to a restaraunt as it could be made with raw egg unlike the shop bought ones.
