Seriously, think about it for a freaking second.

Some workaday guy with a family of four has a cobbler shop in downtown Damascus, never bothers anyone, spends his weekends taking his kids to their soccer games and violin lessons like anyone else, and then he sees a story on CNN about Bush doing this or that and ALL OF A SUDDEN LIKE A BOLT OUT OF THE BLUE he decides to strap a bomb to himself and walk into a daycare?

It's an irrational act - unreasonable. Insane. That means there isn't a reason outside of the person's head.

And if it's just us, why are they committing violence all over the world? How many troops did BALI send to Iraq? What help does Israel get from BALI?

Hmmmmm?

You can agree or disagree with Bush - sometimes I agree with him and often I don't.

But he's no more responsible for the terrorists than the Beatles were responsible for Charles Manson.

I don't believe it, I believe Islam creates terrorists.

I love that line "But he's no more responsible for the terrorists than the Beatles were responsible for Charles Manson." Mind if I borrow it sometime?

Look up PEAK OIL. Basically, the planet has surpassed it's maximum annual output of crude oil, and as time progresses demand will continue to increase against a falling supply.

For consumers, this means that in a little while they'll wish they could get three bucks a gallon. For the US neo conservatives and their geopolitical agenda (again look it up if you don't know- it's important), this means that they will have most of the bargaining chips in a future where oil is a scarce, yet necessary commodity. Between Iraq's proven second largest reserves (in the world) and the oil pipeline built across Afghanistan to transport Caspian oil and natural gas, the US will be in a very good position indeed.

Justification for the war aside, this Administration has unflinchingly made mistake after mistake with its conduct, holding no one accoutable (Rumsfeld's resignation was token) and really not caring. Ask any geopolitical analyst, though, and they will tell you that the US is doing a marvelous job. As long as Iraq is unstable, our troops will remain to protect oil interests. So, yes, we are creating terrorists and it is to the benefit of the neo-cons. Capturing a team of British commandos dressed like Arabs in a vehicle laden with explosives and detonating systems suggests we are doing this ourselves. Now why would we do that?

"Spreading democracy" is the farce made up by the Administration after the WMD lie could no longer hold up. Just take a look at how gone to **** Afghanistan is since 2001 (except for the proposed pipeline route of course).

The "war on terror" is an excuse to secure America's position as top dog for this century (check out "Project for a New American Century"). The more terrorists there are, the more Americans support military action and the erosion of their rights. Damn right they are creating more terrorists, and they are doing it for a reason. They aren't dumb- that's just a cover. Any dirtbag can wrap themselves in a flag, so think for yourself.

If you've read this far- congratulations. If you can step outside the box of subjectivity, and begin to see something here, than that's even better. When you're done digesting this bit of reality, continue your search for truth, because this is just the tip of the iceberg.

Yes and no. We are not necessarily preventing Terrorist considering that the majority of our government is comprised of terrorists. We are, however, sowing the World that the utilization of fear is a great method, and in tis way we are creating terrorists. The bottom line is that nobody and nothing truly creates terrorists. Terrorists are not crazy people that randomly blow up tings/shoot people, as many have answered this and many other terrorism related questions. Terrorists are, in fact, usually quite intelligent, or at least those that create their plans are. I mean, look at the amount of fear that is used in tis country daily. It is unquestionably the greatest mode of control. What better way to get what you want, then to strike fear into the hearts of many, and then become their safe haven. If you want to come up with what musters the greatest amount of terrorism, it is most Religion. The main three particularly. This is due to their use of fear. They tell their followers to follow rules and to fear the repercussions of disobeying their God. For those that say, "Well only Muslims are terrorists, I don't see Christians blowing people up," just look at the moral, ethical, and psychological attacks that they perform on countless people daily. Also, think of the thousands, if not millions of missionaries that have followed the "follow Jesus or get a bullet in the head" mentality. I am reminded of a quote from a minister in Africa, in which he states, "When the Christian missionaries first came, they had the Bible, and we had our land. They said 'Close your eyes and let us pray.' When we opened our eyes, we had the Bible, and they had the land."

Nah. It's more like
Some grunt in the Iraqi infantry suddenly has no paycheck, no food and a loaded gun. Disbanding the Iraqi military was not one of Bremmer's brightest ideas, and it can be said that he single handedly birthed the insurgency.

Bali didn't get bombed because it sent troops to Iraq. In fact, Bali can't send troops to Iraq because it's not a country, but an island in Indonesia. Bali got bombed cause it's a hangout for drunken Auzzies. And yes, Australia did send troops to Iraq.

I believe we're defining "terrorists" as anyone who shoots at American troops. By this definition, yes, we're creating terrorists. By that definition...the entire Confederate army during the American Civil War were terrorists.

We invaded another nation, and demanded they change their way of life. Many living there took offense to that. I'd call them freedom fighters or rebels, not terrorists.

Many living in Iraq were brutalized by their own people before we showed up. Now they're out for revenge. I'd call them vigilantes or well-armed rioters....not terrorists.

Yes, there are terrorists in the area trying to recruit and orchestrate resistance to American influence. But no one's wearing uniforms to identify themselves. Their tactics aren't too far removed from the Viet Cong's strategy in Vietnam. Funny how they weren't defined as terrorists back then...

....btw, I'm FOR us being there.

The Bush administration likes to crow about how we are continually killing and capturing terrorists in Iraq. They cite big numbers to justify our continued military intervention.

Meanwhile, US Intelligence reports a fairly constant number of insurgents fighting in Iraq. This is also touted by the administration as justification for our continued military involvment.

If you believe both of these things which are being said by the administration, than, yes, more terrorists are constantly being created to replace those we capture and kill.

If you don't believe the administration then you are free to doubt it.

We are building Anti-American hatred throughout the world anf making it easier to recruit terrorists. Every time we attack another country, we make it easier for the terrorists to say, "Look at the evil Americans." I know we are not evil, but put yourself in the shoes of someone in Iraq.

Terrorists, in case you hadn't heard, are irrational, unreasonable and insane.

Lots of people snap. Lots of people have that last straw, that one thing that sends them over the edge and makes them unable to cope with things the way they are any longer.

We aren't responsible for terrorism. But we sure aren't helping it any by invading countries that didn't do anything to instigate it.

America does not create terrorist. America's foreign policy creates a global environment for recruiting terrorist. Whether or not someone is willing to acknowledge this simple truth is irrelevant. It is as though neoconservatives hypnotically believe that the US can do no wrong. All humans make mistakes, even humans from the US. Admitting ones mistakes is the first step toward correcting them.

its the same arguement people have made about music for as long as I can remember.
Marilyn manson said to kill, so he did it.
Ozzy bit the head off of a bat, so It made me want to kill
Its stupid.
People don't do things because of their environment (self defense aside), they do things of their own congnition. We all make a choice every day. Most of us luckily don't decide to go on a killing spree, but even those that do, don't make a choicefrom from the media. They do so because they are nuts!
