Yeah, you are correct. PC is ruining our country. No free speech allowed. How can this country go forward when everything you say is "twisted" or deemed negative by someone who has all the same rights and benefits under the constitution. The media just picks up on this stuff and runs with it. I think that is what we have laws and courts for. I can only conclude some people love getting national attention, good or bad. It is a real need with them and indicates a truly sick society in my view.

Yes, if you don't like the heat, get out of the kitchen, vote with your feet. However, if you have other parents who feel the same, then threaten to remove your children at the same time. Nursery's are businesses, and have to jump through so many government rules, they often forget what they are supposed to do, give a balanced educational start. This is - or was a christian country - and even though I am personally an Atheist - I would be angered if my children were brought up without an understanding of what the majority of people in this country believed in, religious wise. Racism starts when people do not understand each other - so it is important for all children to do nativities at Christmas, as well a other religious events from all backgrounds. My daughter looked great painted blue for Diwali, and I had to make 40 lanterns with a fish on it for the Chinese new year decorations for the whole nursery school. wonderful, as I then got coned into climbing a ladder to pin them all up.

the best way to get them back on track is to affect them where they will take notice - their funds.

I feel it has gone too far, especialy in the religious realm. We have to be sooo careful not to offend other religions, yet they can offend Christians all the time, saying we are "pushing our religion on them" What ever happened to freedom of religion and freedom of speech??
I know not every one believes the way I do, and I don't put them down for that. I would appreciate the same respect back.

If people don't want to look at the nativity, then go the other way,or tell the nursery they don't want their children involved. Then let the nursery decide after that.

consider this, the p.c. brigade bend over backwards for foreign imigrants. especialy muslim, at the same time they are doing their best to offend them, and the christians. The muslims are offended by the permiscuity of the british. Stoping christmas celebrations. incase it upsets non christians, if you were a devoute muslim what would offend you the most, achristmass
celebration or the sodomites adulterers liars and all kinds of evil that british do. Our government are actualy an offence against the british themselves, they are a menace political correctness transferes the blame, by making it look like the christians are a
menace in there own land. these are the british anti christ, that are doing this, trying to start religous war, andremove suspition from . them

I certainly do -Politcal correctness has gone over board to say the least and it is affecting people in all sorts in this Country and across Europe that I know of. I think that the powers that be are making us into cloned drones and how one has to think before they engage in conversation now is beyond a joke. I hope you are able to show your child within your own home the meaning of nativity and other symbolic anniversaries which occur throughout our year - there was once a saying "when in Rome do as the Romans do" - this I am afraid is no longer practiced. Good Luck with the basics of inspiration of all tradditional values to you and yours.

Yes it is wrong, but not for the reasons most people think.

I am soooo sick and tired of this being trotted out as a reason to have a go at other people...Muslims mostly.

No Muslim group in this country has ever complained about Christians observing christian festivals. The original reason this became an issue was when schools in some areas were in the region of 80% ethnic minority children and were still only observing Christian/western festivals.

Unfortunately some idiots in local authorities have by dint of their own ignorance, fed into the racist argument and now nearly everyone blames Muslims for this stupidity.

Yes it is wrong...very wrong and very stupid, but please blame the idiots who order it and not some innocent group.

You are quite right its a sad reflection of how low this country has gone . Nativity plays our a part of our heritage as this is a Christian country and has been legally so since Queen Elizabeth the 1st. Political correctness is wrecking our culture and a revolution is long overdue.

Yes, the UK has the church of England and is a christian nation. Hmmm other nations do not give up the national creed. We should be able to have Nativity at our schools. Other people can learn about our beliefs and we in turn we can learn about theirs when they have a celebration. So easy and makes perfect sense. Banning our own traditions will not let other creeds learn and make a happy and understanding country

Seems to me that in this madness, we are having to sacrifice our identity and religious beliefs as it may offend others, Perhaps guests and new arrivals to our country should bear all these elements in mind before coming here. Why should we sacrifice our values, beliefs and religions in order to accept others and not be allowed an opinion or to live as we always have. There should be a way i our modern society to make a place for everyone.

Yes.

Most political correctness comes from people, normally unrelated to the activity, saying it should be stopped IN CASE it offends.

This is quite simply nonsesnse.

some random person waves the political correctness card and everyone else panics.

If a bunch of people complained after the play, then the school could review it for next year but i would defend a nativity play in a Christian country..

can you please ask the school to ban meat-eating. I'm a vegetarian for moral reasons and it offends me that the school provides meat - thanks for that.

Oh, and i'm bald so can you also make sure the school has a proportionate number of bald teachers for me, otherwise you'll be making my kids think i'm unusual. And i'd like to see a bald-person support group set up in the school to encourage integration.

The sad impact of PC is seen in Donna A's answer. She mentions a black support group and then mentions she is not racist. I'm absolutely sure she is not racist, and there is nothing in her answer to say she is. But i bet Donna put that comment in because she, and many others like her ( inc me ) are scared of breathing these days.
