RATE OF SUCCESS IS MORE THEN THE LOVE MARRIAGE. MOREOVER THEY STILL BELIEVE IN THEIR PARENTS THAT THEY WILL TAKE WISE DECISION FOR THEIR MARRIAGE LIFE.

Indians are always future conscious and hard workers. So,most of them don't want to invest precious time by fall in love. This leads to likeness in arranged marriage. Moreover,i believe India still have more tradition & cultural values which favours arranged marriages.

I have also seen some love marriages ends in pathetic like divorce. But most of the arranged marriages are suuccessful.Because lovers always show only thier positive characters while in love, but after marriage they will expose thier negative characters which leads to anti-love between them. But in arranged marriage expectations are less, which leads to adjustments in mutual manner.

Arranged mairrage will be commonly accepted and supported by all the family members and society compared to love marriage,as still we are society related.

taht's the way we indians love it. We always do consider our elders, specially our parents while making some important decisions. When we love somebody, we ask them to get the marraige arranged. When they don't agree we respect their decisions.

That's nothing to do with traditions. hasn't anyone here heard about swayamvars whil;e they talk about traditions. The trtadition is just to marry the best suit.

I don't understand why wearing a cross is a trendy, while wearing 'Om' is a sick tradition, why keeping your fingers crossed is hoping for the best, while bowing your head near a temple is embarassing... Ain't we guys looking down at our culture the way we shouldn't do?

:-)

The real reason is that there is still no free mixing of boys & girls and guys & women . Except in biggger and metro towns, people and specially parents are still very very conservative. So a boy might not have a gf at all and same thing for girls too even when they are of marriagable age of 22-28.
So there is no option for them to depend on their parents to find a partner for themselves.
Sex is still considered a taboo in India.
90% of Indian girls have not tasted sex till their marriage.
Things will not change much in the time to come because elders in India are hopelesly conservative.

No responsibilities before or after marriage. If it succeeds good for the couple if it fails blame the family.

Indian parents like arranged marriages while youngesters prefer love marriages. Youngesters are free to flirt, roam and love anyone of their own choice but are bound to marry the spouse of their parents choice. Usually parents discard the past or current love/sex partner and get married to a stranger to start marital life blindly believing the spouse as the most innocent and unaware of love and sex. Boy's parents demand and receive huge cash, gold and silver and costly articles/clothes from girl's parents as dowry in arranged marriages. Despite it, further demands continue, wives are harassed & tortured mentally and physically. Sometimes wives are brutally killed or burnt to ashes to marry any wealthy girl with more dowry, despite stern laws. Indian Laws about sexual acts are:

Premarital, extramarital or unwed sexual activities (intercourse / coitus) are not barred / prohibited and are no offence in any Indian law. Wife’s sexual intercourse with other/s is also no offence, hence no prosecution or punishment to her. Even her sex partner also cannot be punished, if was unaware of her wedlock or had sex with consent or connivance of her husband. However the police cannot arrest or prosecute him. After divorce also her husband is bound to maintain or pay till she remarries, even if she is permanently / continuously enjoying sex with all other/s. Pre marital sexual experiences (intercourse / coitus) with other/s cannot be a ground to seek divorce under Hindu/Special Marriage Act. Thus a female’s physical sexual relations with persons/s of her choice (with their consent) is not an offence or prohibited / barred in any Indian law and she is at liberty to enjoy SEX freely and fearlessly. A male’s physical sexual relations with any 16+ female (with her consent) is no offence or barred / prohibited in any Indian Law, unless she is in the wedlock of somebody else and is done knowing her wedlock and without her husband’s consent or connivance. Courts are bound to believe that all children born during the wedlock (or within 280 days of court's divorce judgement/ decree) are her husband’s legitimate ones. He is bound to maintain or pay them expenses, till sons are 18+ and daughters are married. Prostitution (commercial sex trade, offering sex for monetary gain) alone is an offence punishable in Indian laws.

. All unwed sexual activities (pre/post/extra marital), homosexual acts, & other perverted sexual acts are specifically forbidden in Islam. In Islam, it is great sin and heinous crime against government/society punishable with publicly lashing/ death by pelting stones.
