In our area, they have to sort the mail that they have themselves before they can go out on their routes, they leave at like 10. Then they take their route and go the fastest/easiest way possible. For some strange reason, people don't like the idea of becoming a postman, therefore if someone calls in sick, or even if they don't, because there are not enough postmen, they have to pick up an extra route or two. And I'm sorry, but you can't deliver two to three routes worth of mail before noon. Try as hard as you can, but it's impossible. So why don't you cut your postman some slack cause he's out there all day no matter what the weather so you can get your freaking mail.

Is it too much to ask for a postman to deliver at all! I sent mail to America almost 3 weeks ago and it still hasn't delivered! I think thats goodbye mail! :-/

Go to usps.com and complain to them directly. My mailman was coming at 6pm at night in the dark! Not only did he stop showing up at that time but it is rare when its delivered after 2pm.!!
Mailman should never deliver after 5pm that is there cut off time. If he is taking that long they will divide up the route, since its too much for him to handle.

You can ask, and if enough of your neighbors agree with you, he might even change his route to accommodate you...but don't count on it. They usually set their routes for what works best for them in conveneince and time.

We had one postal worker who didn't get our mail to us until after 3:00, another got our mail to us around 1:00, now we have one who delievers before 11:00. So I think it's up to the individual carrier.

If you are waiting for a check in the mail, it will come after the bank is closed. --a corollary to Murphy's Law.
