I love the sea and when I finish college want to move to the coast as soon as I am able- I think the sea is in my blood now.

But on top of blasted coastlines and wild ocean I also like green, woods and forests and big gardens...but these never seem to go with coastlines- the winds are always too strong for anything to grow much and you have to go quite a way inland before you find good tree cover and greenery.

Is there anywhere in the UK where there two environments exist very close together, so I could have the best of both worlds? The sea and good old mixed woodland?

My Dad remembers in his youth going somewhere on hoilday near Weston Super Mare and he swears that the woods there grew right down to the waters edge...but I think he might have got confused.

Any ideas? Thanks!

There are several woods around Weston Super Mare, none I've seen could be described as going down to the sea, try the link and from there you can zoom into an area and get an aerial shot of the area?

The Dorset coast. Try Corf where there is a ruined castle or Weymouth. I have a long list and if you visit my 360 you will see a photo of the coastline. Second Blog in.

Try Sandbay nr W-s-M. Hardly what I would describe as the sea, the Severn Estuary!
