I am almost a teen and have these lovely redy-brown glasses from boots optitons for distances (and i could wear them all the time) and i like wearing them because everything is clear but wonder if i want contact lenses when im older. What are they like? I have seen people put them in but how do you take them out? I always hate seeing people put their contacts in and hate seeing them on a table on adverts. They're frecky! But are they better than glasses?

They both have their pros and cons. I love my glasses (they certainly cost enough) but my eyesight is so bad making the glasses so heavy the leave indentations on the sides of my nose. And when they get dirty, it is so annoying. And too, my eyes are very sensitive to light, so have a tough time driving during the day with my glasses.

Once you get used to putting contacts in and taking them out, there's nothing to it at all...however, if you make the mistake of falling asleep in them you are in for a lot of discomfort, sometimes they wear faster than they should, if you get something underneath of them (say, an eyelash) you are totally screwed. But yet, I prefer them to my glasses...I can wear sunglasses no prob, no indentations on the sides of my nose, easier on me when at the them.

However, with all that being said, I'm getting myself psyched up to have lasik surgery soon.

It depends on you; contacts are more convenient in the fact that you can just slip them in; but if they fall out, you might never find them again, or you might break them whilst trying to look for them. Contacts can be a pain to put in too; I saw my aunt putting hers in and I thought it would be better if I stuck to glasses. Then again, contacts are easier to clean. Glasses are easier to keep up with but, you have to be careful; because if you have some like mine, which irritate the skin, there could be a few problems. With glasses you have to make sure the lenses don't get scratched or cracked. You also have to be mindful of the small screws. All in all, I would say choose whatever suits YOUR tastes; not anyone else's. Good luck with whatever you choose to do!

I wear contacts and they're ok to be wearing them but not more than 8 hrs. After a while they start sticking to me. I wear soft contacts so they're really easy to put on. Yeah my first time I took forever to put them on but once I got practice it was easy. I use contacts because I wouldn't go to the club wearing glasses...so I use contacts for the looks. Glasses are way more comfortable though.

They're different. I see as well with my glasses or contacts; some people don't. I can't wear mine all day; it bothers my eyes after a while.

To put them in you put them on your fingertip and place them on your iris. It can be hard at first to put your finger in your eye.

Hard or gas permeable contacts are removed by holding the corner of your eye and tugging and they pop out. No touching your eye, but sometimes they wander and can be annoying or painful to get back in place to remove.

Soft lenses you need to grasp and remove which means sorta touching your eye.

Oh.... Contacts and eye makeup can be a real pain until you get used to them. I guess you can get used to them together, since you're probably not a makeup wearer yet.

You have such pretty eyes, you should go for the contacts. :)

I worn glasses since i was in the first grade, but finally i was able to convince my parents to allow me to get contacts after the 8th grade. I have now been in them for five years, and they are amazing. They look difficult to get in and out, but it is only so for a few days. It actually is quite simple, you place the contact on your pointer finger then with your second finger pull down gently on the skin directly below your eye and just pop the contact on there- leave your eye open for a few seconds and your good to go.
Comfort level depends on the sensitivity of your eyes and the type of contacts you get. I'm not gonna lie, i do sometimes have problems, and sometimes do wear my glasses, but its very rare.
There are so many perks to wearing contacts it helps with sports, swimming, showering, and completely changes your look. I advise talking to your eye doctor about the possiblities. because it is soo worth it.

I have contacts and glasses. I prefer the contacts. I hate the look of glasses. Really contacts are not that hard to care for and keep clean. I would ask your dr. which is best for you.

I like the way glasses feel, but I like the way contacts look...If I could find a pair of glasses that I REALLY liked, I would stick with them. In the meantime, the search continues!

They are both efficient. I have been wearing contacts for 3 years and have been wearing glasses since i was a little kid. I like to wear glasses while I work and contacts for more casual and social purposes. In my opinion, it good to have both.

Contacts can be more convenient - sports, makeup, etc. Most people I know with contacts, also keep a pair of glasses handy. So you can have the best of both worlds!
