sorry dude, usb ports on a computer are the worst things in the world. im having the same problem for weeks now. go to ur manufacturs web site and peep out the support page. you may need to reinstall drivers for your ports

go to device manager and plug in a usb device (must be plug and play). if there are still 6 "USB Root Hub" showing up there is something wrong with the usb controller (like bad driver)
