Governments are the main source of terrorism in the world. The only differences between the US government and al Quaeda are: (1) The US government delivers your mail in between delivering bombs on its victims, and (2) the US government hides its evil behind a smokescreen of self-righteous bombast, whereas al Quaeda hides in caves. Oh, and the US government has more money and can buy more bombs than al Quaeda can.

Anybody who wants to get anything done politically has got to be a terrorist in some form. When you act politically, you are by definition using other people to accomplish your purposes, which might not be in accordance with the wishes of some, most, or all of the people you must use.

You must have some way to motivate those reluctant people. Some you can bribe with money, and you can call the bribe a "paycheck" so the corruption isn't so obvious. Just doin' a job, ya know.

Besides the carrot, you need a stick. Some people just won't be bribed, not even if you figleaf it with semantics. Those types, you must threaten, and the only threat dire enough is "Do it, OR I'LL KILL YOU or hurt you so bad you'll wish you were dead." That's what the US government does. Ask Vicki Weaver. Ask Gordon Kahl. Oops, sorry, you can't ask them. They're dead. Ask Vince Bertolini, then, he only got beaten so bad he lost an eye.

Since this is the "Astronomy & Space" section, I guess I'd better say something that is relevant to both the question and the topic. So I propose that we begin thinking of ways to adapt to Space Terrorism. Yes, I said "Space Terrorism." This can involve many things, such as the sabotage of rocket engines, putting viruses in spaceship computers, knifing astronauts who are on a spacewalk, shooting holes into lunar air domes, and so on.

But the most dramatic kind of Space Terrorism that I see as doable in the foreseeable future is asteroid diversion. Space Terrorists can, in principle, change the orbit of an asteroid so that it hits Earth.

Are there any skeptics here? Then I will lay that skepticism to rest. Go to
http://ssd.jpl.nasa.gov/sbdb.cgi?sstr=(2001%20YB5)

That asteroid can be diverted into a collision course with Earth by this delta-vee:

Time = JD 2458238.25 (18h UT, 29 April 2018)
dV = 83.659 meters per second
RA = 15h 24m 20.79s
dec= +5.4816652 deg

Just that little push, at that moment, in that direction, will shift the asteroid out of an orbit that will miss Earth by eight million kilometers, into another orbit that will smack directly on Earth 617.02 days later, at JD 2458855.27 (18:28:48 UT, 6 January 2020).

What can be done about Space Terrorism? Not much. You can't beat a tactic, which is what all terrorism is, whether it occurs on Earth or not. So since you can't beat 'em, OUTPLAY them! It's nature's own game, you know: survival of the fittest, trying to resurrect itself from the money pit in which it has been buried for more than a hundred years. Be all that you can be. If that's a mouse, then so be it. But if you have some lion in you, don't let him starve!

The question is childish. When there is no terrorism, people's attraction would be diverted. This planet is full of terrorism by individual creatures including lively beings. Even the pebble and molecule of soil are lively and active. If we see a pebble today at one place, even giving perfect guard, it would move to another place. The whole universe is born from a lot of terrorism. Our physical body is growing because of the terrorism and peace is a principle we seek. Encourage the good and do not hate the evils is the human welfare.

Since this is "Astronomy and Space", let's round up th terrorists and shoot them into the sun. Send along a microphone and radio so we can listen to them scream.

You who want to ban religion must be too young to remember the endless Communist terrorism that plagued Europe for decades. They were atheists.

You can't stop it overnight.
But ofcourse gradually, it all started and blossomed with hatred.Hatred is nothing but lack of love. We have to love each other, and if anything [religion, race, geographical limits, money, power or let it be anything] is stopping you from doing that you have to be bold enough to descard them. And ofcourse you teach your children the value, and power of love. Can you do that? Well that is the million dollor quistion.

Genetically modify everyone on the planet.
Or wipe out everyone on the planet.

That's like asking how do we get rid of manipulation or jealousy. It will never happen.

Banning all religion would be a good start - most terrorism comes from them.
