I don't know about the U.K., other than what I see in the news, but all over the "free" world the political correctness has run amok. The U.S. has gotten to the point where few people have the will to speak out against anything for fear that they will be branded "intolerant". That's apparently the worst thing anyone can be. I think it's supposed to be worse than child rape because those people are just victims of abuse, themselves, and can't help it if they have urges (tongue in cheek).
Oddly enough, the term "politically correct" was coined by the USSR as an ideal for the thinking of the populace. If a person spoke out against anything the government did, they were put into concentration camps until their thinking was deemed to be, once again, acceptable to government standards. They became "politically correct". I wonder why the term is supposed to be a good thing now.

If a man stands for nothing he will fall for anything.

I thought the UK was always politically correct. Unfortunately you let everybody IN and like children...the more you spoil them, the worse they behave. The result being...It is the old story of the fox guarding the hen house.

Yes, Bananastan.... too much law replacing morals, not enough manners & common sense.
Nanny state of Bananstan is debt ridden because the PC loan brigade do not have the morals to be desciminating against people who cannot afford their loans.
Live today - pay for the rest of your life!
What happened to waste not want not? I like curly cucumber, strange shaped bananas and the pounds and ounces I grew up with, such a waste of money in this Great Britain on stuff that is ridiculous.

We have stopped listening to each other and mixing. The loss of Humour and fear of being called a racist rule, learning about each other takes a back seat because we can't talk freely. We are not politically correct we are stupid.

We already are too PC! Kids not being allowed to make Mothers' Day cards - what a liberty!!

There's nothing wrong with being civil, and avoiding outright rude behaviour, but it's gone too far!!!
