Just to clear things up , I'm not a drug taker, but I am an artist and all my artist friends who do drugs seem to be amazingly creative .

Personally I think they use drugs to mask the fact they have no innate creativity or talent.Experiment with different mediums and let your imagination fly. Just for the record I do not understand how anyone can call a slab of rotting meat art but I recall there was an exhibit on this. I heard of animals painting with their tails and that is art.too to some. I guess people can call anything art if they market it well.Good luck in your endeavours.Just perservere and use the talents you have.Try to get a gallery to exhibit some of your better pieces or at least see if they will critique your work.

Unfortunately, yes. I did some of my best work on drugs. But then, they got the best of me so I had to stop.
We use so little of our brains that there's got to be a way to tap into that center that drugs affect to get that creativity. I just don't know how.
Alot of the famous poems and stories written a long time ago were by writers under the influence. Day to day life just muddles our brains so much that's it's hard to really focus on creativity.

no...it may just be the other way around. Creative people may just be drawn to active drug use. The truly creative people I know think way outside the box....and some feel out of place in a conformist society...so they turn to things frowned upon by the "norms" Not all creative people, mind you. But this may account for what you are seeing in your friends.

I love to draw and paint, and i am okay at it. But i used to do drugs, different kinds, and it never enhanced my creativity, it just made me act funny, and i couldn't focus on ANYTHING. And i especially couldn't draw. I think drugs have different effects on different people. And your friends might just have creative minds, whether they are on drugs or not. Drugs made me feel crazy, so i had to stop. I think it is best to just Not try any. They are very bad for you. And you might absolutly hate them, and they might make you go crazy, like they did me. Or you could love them, but then there is an easier chance they will grab you, and ruin your life. Best to be creative while in your normal state of mind.
