Bad.
Another commercial holiday to guilt and pressure people into buying cheaply made one-liner gifts. (Good for one day, one viewing or one use.)
It just generates so much garbage!
Think of how many cards don't get saved or all the empty boxes that don't get recycled.
Think of all the dead roses that don't get composted! Yikes!
I don't need V-day to let special people know how much I care about them.
I don't like a day that makes people who aren't involved with a special someone to feel lonely or depressed.
Nor do I like that so many guys (& gals) rush out to buy stuff when they could save that money towards a more meaningful purchase.
That's just my opinion.
I use to like it when it was simply a day to hand out tiny little cards with "Be mine" on them.
Now it evolved to the point where there "should" be flowers, candy, jewellery, dinner, dancing etc... Everyone can do all those things the rest of the year without the inflated prices.
Am I wrong?

Good. It refreshes the spirit of love and kindness for one another. Money doesn't have to be spent to enjoy the day, nor does anyone have to set aside time - just being kind to someone you bump into or see in the store, with just a smile or kind word or two. You never know how it might have made their day. I have had folks stop and talk to me for no reason in a store, and I remember their act of kindness, and / or their words of kindness.

I agree. It's good for Hallmark and bad for dudes who have girlfriends with expensive taste LIKE ME! UH OH! Damn Valentine's day. It had to have been created by a girl, it just had to have been.

It is bad for those people who don't have that special someone yet. Somebody made the holiday into all romance when there is all kinds of love.

You tell me... If you have a valentine, its expensive and even harder to top the next year. If you dont, well then its lonely and miserable as @%&$. (scuse the language) but who makes a holiday like that?

I like it. It's a chance to show someone you love them and that you care. It's also a fun time to buy gifts, just like Christmas!
