I can only think of "Slaine" (celtic sci-fi hero from 2000AD comics) which I think is a cool character. Hmm he's Irish I think.

And then there's SLOSH "Scottish League Of Super-Heroes" which I have never heard of.

Most super heroes I seem know of are Amercian based... such as spiderman, superman (okay he's not from the states but lives there), the hulk, wonder woman etc

I am just curious to know about other super heroes (comic book or movie based) that are Scottish (or at least British).

Thanks if you can help.

Judge Dredd is sort of Amercian isn't he? He may have been created by a Briton but it does not mean he's British. Dredd lives in a futuristic New York City.

I've been racking my brains for a Scottish one that hasn't already been mentioned. UK based, my sorry little list is:
Danger Mouse
V from Alan Moore's V for Vendetta?
Will try and come up with some more later :)

Ooh, I've just found this guy, 'FIONN' from 'Nifty Comics': "A New Scottish hero is born", apparently, see the link below

Marvel made a captain Britain I remember (who turned out to be gay) and he had a sister as well who was British (who eventually became Psylocke in the X-men).
There are also characters by comic write Alan Moore which are all very British (most being either based on British literary figures or being like you say UK based). Moore is certainly a writer I personally recommend and if you haven't all ready I suggest you have a look at his Graphic Novel: 'The Watchmen'.

A while ago, Marvel had a title out called Excalibur, and they were a super hero team based in Britain. Brian Maddox was Captain Britain, his sister Betsy was Psylocke. Kitty Pride (yes, I know, she’s named after a brand of kitty litter) was Shadowcat; she was on leave from the X Men. Brian’s lover was Meggan. They were based on Muir Island, off the coast of Scotland. They went through a variety of changes, but they remained essentially British.

You can find good articles on Excalibur in the Marvel Directory and probably also on wikipedia.

Enjoy!

Well, from Scotland you've got Rahne Sinclair/Wolfsbane and Colin Mckay/ "Kylun" then in terms of "British" theres the whole Braddock family from England, (Brian/"Captain Britain", Betsy/ "Psylocke", and villain Jamie Braddock) Jono Starsmore/ "Chamber", Pete Wisdom, Scott Wright/ "Micromax", Megan Gwynn/ "Pixie" and Sean cassidy/ "Banshee". Most of these guys were at some point attached to "Excalibur" but the new revamp has seen more Americans than British members. There are loads of British supervillains, like Black tom and Mister Sinister, as well as Toad, Proteus and spoor, but then again, us British always did make for the best villains, didn't we?

True, supergran qualifies as a scots superhero (albeit a totally mad one) but I'm sure Bananaman is more English than Scottish, at least he was voiced with an English accent by one of the Goodies.
However I did find a Scots super VILLAIN!
Sonarr. Found in JLI quarterly issue 8
I have that comic somewhere too! great!

In terms of heroes, I belive there's just Captain Britain and also Banshee from the X-Men, though he's more Oirish than Irish, and depending on which part of Ireland he's from, may not count as British (though I doubt Marvel makes the distinction).

There's also Juggernaught, Pyro and various other Mockney bad guys.

A Scottish superhero would be cool, though. He could out-Wolverine Logan, easy.

Captain Britain from Excalibur is, well, obviously British. Banshee might be Scottish. Wolfsbane is also Scottish. I think Marvel Comics has a website with an index where you can look up superheroes.
