If it a relatively small file (a few KB's or MB's) that is a setup program, then you should run it. If it is a file that isn't a setup program or it is a large file (100 MB or greater), then you should save it.

If it's a small file that you need to install an application, Run would be just fine to use. But if the file is large or something you would like to archive, Save it what you need. When you Run a program once it's downloaded it will open and do its operation, and the file will then be deleted. If something would happen during installation (error or some other problem) then the program would be deleted and you'll have to redownload it. It'd be a waste of time to downlaod a huge file for nothing. So for those instances it'd be better to chose Save and then run the program and make sure it works. After that you can delete it if you no longer want it.

If it's any games you have to download, you wouid defintlly wanna run it.
Picture, songs, valubals, they shouid be saved to a special folder.
Stuff like WoW, and Age of empires 3 require disk, and it will not ask you to run or save the file, that is normal for all games you go out to bestbuy or wallmart and buy.
Please up this question, i'm trying to earn point's.

I NEVER let and Internet things 'run' in any Microsoft system!

I never download with Internet Exploder!

I always run a hardware firewall like http://ipcop.org (FREE!).

I only run Firefox, and prefer to download in http://pclinuxos.com on a spare system, and then virus check it.

Finally, use a USB stick, or, burn a CDrom, and carry that over to the Microsoft machine!

No Microsoft computer should ever be on any network or the Internet! It is too dangerous, and even Hotmail, MSN, and Microsoft.com, Yahoo.com, Google.com, all run on Unix clone OSes, NEVER on the Microsoft ones!

84% of the Internet runs on LAMP.

LAMP is the open-source web platform: Linux + Apache + MySQL + (PHP | Perl | Python).

Usually the best thing to do is to save it first, and then run it manually if you are sure that the file is safe.

If you save it, you'll have the file forever in your PC, if you just run it, it will be saved in a temporarly folder and after you close the file, will be deleted.
