It depends on what font your using in Windows as your standard font in all your programs--you can change that in desktop properties. If you have never messed with customizing the appearance of Windows then you should just be able to do the following:
Hold down the ALT key and press 3 (you must use the number key pad. Right side of keyboard and numlock must be on). Let the 3 key up and then let the ALT key up. The ♥ should appear. ALT + 4 = ♦, ALT + ♣, ALT + 6 = ♠. They are extended ascii characters that are not available using just a single key for a character. Is that what you meant? ☺ By the way ☺ - ALT + 1. Alt + 2 = ☻. Remember, you must use the number key pad. Right side of keyboard and numlock must be on.

♥♥♥

Try the following:

>> Start Menu
>> Programs
>> Accessories
>> System Tools
>> and then click on Character map.

Scroll down untill you find the heart symbol you want, click on it and the press the Select button for the number of hearts you want.

Next, Press the Copy button.

Now, go to the document (or place) you want the heart to appear and press the left mouse button once to activate the page.

Finall, right click and select Paste. The hearts will appear there.

Have fun!

If you cannot find the heart symbol when you initially open the Character Map, look under the FONT for Ariel. Theres a little black heart under there. Cheers!
