My friend is a very compasionate person with the most humane interests at heart. But lately, she's confided in me that she's getting brief flashing image, that she's killing the person sitting next to her on the bus, the yelling baby at the clinic, her husband sleeping next to her? We both find this experience weird, and she claims that she will never get the urge to do such things. Anybody with same experiences ? I will greatly appreciate psychological explanations? Take note, that my friend just emigrated to live in another country and I'm wondering if the new country and environment is playing on her mental health and emotions??....

Maybe sometimes the person will get on her nerves that day and she keeps it to herself and locks it in her head to dream about when shes asleep. Make sense? I hope.

Moving to another country could definately be playing havoc on her mental health and emotions. She's taken a huge step in leaving her own country and she might very well be experiencing alot of inner turmoil because of this.

I think alot of people have or will experience these feelings at some point in their lives. I know I have in the past and will again in the future but, it's how we deal with it that is important. Just because she's thinking it and seeing it in her mind, doesn't mean it will ever happen.

If you're both really concerned, then seeing a therapist would be a good thing....someone she can safely talk to without fear of judgement would be the best medicine.

She's lucky to have a great friend like you to confide in.

Best of luck with everything. :-)

Sometimes I fantasize like that - I think everyone does, still since its creeping you and your friend out, it's worth it to seek out a professional therapist just to put both your minds at ease.

Maybe it's a sign of internal stress or some other issue.

I thought that way about an ex of mine when we were stationed in Europe (Im from a midwestern state)...obviously I 'snapped' out of it by finding a waaaay nicer person (me) with someone else worthy of my love, a year later.
