I'm 25, single and my job is going to move me to one of these cities. Which is more fun?

Dallas and Chicago are fairly close in many asspects for a young person. They both have ample choices for nightlife and sporting events. Both cities have two significant airports.
Key financial note....Texas does not have a state income tax!
Sales tax is high @ 8.25%.
Other factors contribute to a choice of home city.
The weather is significantly different. Chicago is known for brutal winters. It gets hot as hell in Dallas in mid-late summer.
Chicago has an extensive mass transit system. Dallas' system is not as mature. You will definately want you own car if you live in Dallas.
Chicago is more centralized while Dallas is more spread out.
Food is different. Dallas is all about Tex-Mex and we have to import folks from Chicago and New York to make our pizza for us.

We chose Dallas and stuck it out for 7 years. We moved because while Dallas is OK for young professionals, we chose to raise our family elsewhere.

Dallas has better climate, more attractive cost of living and a much more lay back way of life than Chicago. Chicago is too big, impersonal and cold as heck in the winter. I think you'll have more fun in Dallas. Much more bang for the buck!

IMHO Dallas is better. Better weather, plenty to do. Big city without being too big. It's safer but still a lot of fun.

For me, Dallas is the better choice. The weather is better. Everything else is about equal.
