I dropped my Ipod in a puddle. I managed to dry it out and get it to switch back on but now the little lock shows up in the top left corner whether the lock slide on the top is on or off. Have tried restoring it and it does it but still won't unlock so I can't use it. Anybody got any sensible ideas? Cheers

If you're iPod is within one year of purchase, it should come with one free years warranty and you should be able to return it for repair or they will send you a new one, usually the new revised 2006 edition.
Check the link in sources for ordering a box from apple which they send you to put your ipod.

go buy another one at the store such as walmart and return the broken one to get your money back. when they say what is wrong with the item just say " it locks up in the corner" dont obviously exchange..just say you want to look around a bit before deciding. NOw you have your money back and a new ipod

long shot but you could buy another 30gb ipod and then transfer the hard disk disk over, keeping you music and whatelse is on there, i know this can work with computer hard disks when the electronics have gone

push the little button ontop so it isn't any longer in the lock position and then carry the play/pause button for 5 seconds or until eventually the demonstrate is thoroughly black. then wait some seconds and commence it lower back up
