I believe violence is violence i do not condone violence because it is a woman battering a man both perpetrators can be male or female, but it is still violence, it would seem that when a woman hits a man we are known as the weaker sex so no one takes it that seriously they think a man at least against a woman should be able to deal with that no problem, because he's a man, but that is not the case, it should still be treated accordingly..same sex violence is seen as domestic squabbles, and regarded as not to be as serious as male female, but all should be treated as violence, and many times these incidents go un-reported.

Cause people thing it's silly for a woman to be able to beat up a man. And in same sex relationships they probably think it's an even fight. Truth is people are callus and if they haven't been through it they don't understand how painful domestic violence is. With more awareness hopefully this will change.

Authorities and society in work, in general terms, on the premise that women are 'the weaker sex' and therefore violent attacks by a male partner are deemed 'physically unfair' immediately. Men suffer visa versa, in as much as women are deemed weaker and therefore aren't capable of inflicting serious harm on a male without the male 'letting them'. And that's before we get into the 'male ego' and embarrassment which keeps them silent victims.
Same sex violence has not really been regarded as an issue in the public arena, I would imagine because up until recently the 'establishment' didn't recognise same sex relationships to take statistics and also because rightly or wrongly they're seen as physically equivalent to each other and therefore equally matched in an altercation.

I am not sure about how it plays out w same sex couples but I know when a man is the victim and the women is the perp it is taken less seriously even by the police. Most men dont report because they are embarassed or ashamed and when they do the cops dont react they way the would if it was the other way around.

All violence, domestic or otherwise, should be taken seriously. There isa never any justification for violence. It proves nothing, other than that the perpetrator is inadequate.

Ouch no.... dont hit me.....You are absolutely right and the reason we dont report it is because we love the person.... Also if you have been brought up to believe that women are the weaker sex and never to hit a woman it is very hard to stop one from hitting you..... If it was a man you would trade punches... but a woman can go to town on a man and he will just take it.... if he wanted to a man could easily knock any woman out with a light punch....women dont know how to fight but they know how to hot and scratch....
I was being attacked by a girl and i told her to get away from me...she kept on saying or what are you going to hit a woman.... I said no....but my sister doesnt have a problem with knocking your lights out.... she soon stopped having a go at me....

i believe its just as serious...abuse is abuse and violence against men AND women...is not ok. if you can hurt someone to the point of getting physical...than you have probs and need to deal with it there and then
these things are a cycle you need to do something as soon as you see the signs. you can only help yourself....there is no excuse or justifications for it

Just seems a fairer match of strength when same sex couples are slugging away at each other. Of course, this is not always the reality and at the end of the day, assault is assault, however it is painted.

because we live in a world of stereotypes and tradinally men are stronger than women so if a man get violence from a woman he should just kick the **** out of her...equal rights an all....but its not acceptable from either side..id leave them if they even showed a hint of violence towards me
