As much as I like Kim Clijsters I feel that winning another slam within her personal deadline for retirement by the end of the year seems very elusive. Just the fact that she played Australian Open and then immediately got injured justifies the doubts. According to me she is a player who needs to play a lot of matches to be match fit. Infact looking back she won the US Open 2005 after playing and winning through the tough summer US Open Series. That is the kind of match practice she needs.
Ofcourse she is not like Serena who can just win with her mental determination and talent without practice. Ofcourse at the end of this year if she retires I feel that tennis will lose one of the best sportswomen in the history of tennis and a great person by character.

I just don't see it happening. However, thw women's tour is much more wideopen than the men's. Here's how I see it.
French Open: Henin-Hardenne def Clijsters 6-3, 6-4
Wimbledon: Sharapova def Mauresmo 5-7, 6-1 9-7
U.S. Open Ivanovic def Henin Hardenne 1-6 7-6 (7-5), 6-4

I don't think she will but with justine just starting to play again i think she is the 2nd best on clay so if she is to win another slam it has to at the french. I hope she can do it....

Well with Serena back, and Henin-Hardenne and Sharapova around, she will have many challenges

didn't she retire after the australian open? she lost to sharapova at the semis and i think that would be her last match for her tennis career.
