I heard on the news the other night that they were talking about making it legal.
It is illegal cause they don't want people making money on selling the tickets for more than the face value.

There's tax on event tickets, right? The government wants their bit and they can't get it if the tickets are being sold to a third party.

It's not everywhere... some places will allow it up to 125% of the face value of the tickets.

Its called "Theft of Service" and it includes taking any money that would normally go through the proper copyright, tax, and royalties channels. Illegal, yet so expensive.
