I can see where I will be with my qualification and also where I would be without it (which I don't want to go back to), but I am still fighting to motivate myself to get on with the work and put the effort in!

You've only been on here two weeks. Don't worry, the novelty soon wears off.

I'm going through something similiar. I want to get my 4 year, but going back to school seems pointless even though I know better. Find something about school that your absolutely love or create something that ties you to the university. This can be as something as simple as joining a club or maybe taking a class simply for fun. Another way is to make a list of what this one year will mean for you. What changes will this make in your life compared to how it was? How worth it is it to finish? Sometimes seeing it written on paper can be a major motivation. Put this with a few quotes or pictures of what you want to accomplish after your graduate and look at it everyday or everytime you feel ready to give up. This has worked for me many times in the past and is currently given me the motivation to seriously begin my search for a college to finish my degree.

wow, tricky for you picking BA. I had a tear interpreting those solutions. If one be conscious describes it: severe. My little ones question me a query even as i'm in the midst of typing some thing, they pause and say: "you're ignoring me lower back." i am going to say: "No, i'm no longer, i'm, are not I?" Then i am going to end what i'm doing and seem up and we will be smiling at one yet another. those are halcyon days. i adjust each day....I choose i'd have saved a diary....and yet, i think unchanged, bolstered, recharged....I nonetheless sense like me. i recognize that in the properly, there is no longer some thing purely one individual can do to regulate the international: that is an phantasm. replace comes about because we develop and mature, and we keep in mind the blunders we made. My daughter informed me this the different day: people are diverse from animals, no longer because we've higher brains, nor because we are self-conscious, yet because we are conscious that we are self-conscious. concept i'd percentage that perception with you. What influenced me in the start? the worry that loopy Christians are pushing human beings removed from the single element that would help them out. They drove ME loopy, and that i had to set it immediately. researching and preparation are 2 diverse issues. actually everyone learns. it will be a scary element. yet no longer actually everyone can tutor. a nasty instructor is 10Xs worse than a nasty learner.

Prioritise your work you need a plan on how you want to complete you targets on a daily basis. Then in the evening when you fell tired log on to yahoo to find out wsuuuup. That has been my trick i have been doing that for a month now. I dont even switch on my laptop until late in the evening.

Another tip is to study in a different environment e.g the quiet study area at the library where there is no access to the Internet

Good luck

You've got no best answers. You have very few points.

Forget it, you weren't cut out for the Yahoo Answers community. People obviously don't want you here. We need you to concentrate on your work instead.

What do you do at university? Maybe you can post bits of your final year essay as "questions" in the homework section or something if you can't do it all by yourself.

you need to remember why you're doing it and all the effort you've put in so far and how disappointed you'll be if you fail - because if you do you'll have only one person to blame - you.
But you've come this far.
Switch off yahoo, go and get a hot drink, have a break for half an hour (assuming its possible) and then start again.
Youre doing it for you - dont let youself down. You can see you goal, go and get it. good luck

I understand how one gets addicted to Yahoo answers! Well, you feel like visiting Yahoo more often for these reasons:
1) Opportunity to answer questions that suit your interest and thinking capabilities
2) No time restrictions to solve an answer.
3) Knowledge and humour makes Yahoo answers a refreshing experience.
4) It feels good about being helpful and getting a help in return.
5) Anticipation of being selected as best answer and wanting for more.
6)When your answer gets selected as best it makes you feel noticed, appreciated and loved by people.
7)Opportunity to interact with different set of people all together. Different from those who you interact with, everyday. Different people belonging to different culture, caste, race, religion, country...
8) Novice idea and an opportunity to explore and experiment with it.
Since all this is missing when we study for a University exam, we lack motivation.
May be you could decide that you will switch to Yahoo! only when you are extremely bored or only when you need a break( you will earn points for visiting but you dont have to sit all day long!)Tea time or lunch or dinner time is best time to visit Yahoo answers!
May be you could ask questions on your study material.
May be you could answer a question in such a way that you did never be selected for the best.( Answering will earn you points and question will remain stored in your 'My answer' list to be thought about later.) I know its going to be difficult for you, but still you could try.
Think more about what you will gain after clearing University exams. Tell yourself that studies are just as fun as Yahoo! "I just need to discover the fun and for that I must give little more time"
Try studying in a group of 2/3 so you will have company but less distractions.
And dont worry! Being on Yahoo answers is not a waste of time or energy! So dont feel guilty about it and start studying in earnest! All the best!
I am sitting for exams too! I hope these ideas works for you and me as well!

Just think of being condemned to answering Yahoo questions everyday for the rest of you life! Seriously, you've probably just got the February blues get out get some exercise, release those lovely endorphins in your brain, it means getting hot sticky and breathless for it to really work but it does. Good Luck with your exams.

Come on! Get a grip! How old are you? 6 1/2? You sound like an adult... so start acting like one! You really know what you need to do... we as adults do what we have to to get the results we want.... whether we like it or not. Kids whine and look for the easy way out and then complain when they don't get what they wanted. Go get a cup of java, make a list of your goals, and start holding yourself accountable!

block it, delete it somehow. whatever is distracting you - get rid of it. when i HAD to get on with some work recently i uninstalled everything i didnt need and just had email and the software i needed.
throw the tv away. flush the dvd player down the loo.
failing that, get up, get out of your house away from all the distractions and go somewhere, maybe not the library if that freaks you out, just go somwhere where theres nothing else to do. then you'll get on with it even if purely out of boredom.
then feel all warm and fuzzy and self-righteous and go be lazy and drunk as a reward.

A good way to stop looking at Yahoo Answers, is to stop asking questions...

Good luck with the studies. :-)
