Well i've never officially been stopped **knock on wood**, but I have had experiences with cops in a car that made me cry.

The first was when I was driving home late at night from a meeting at work. It was about 1am, and there were no cars on the road. I was going a bit fast (the speed limit is 65, and I was going abuot 75), and I was listening to music, smoking a cigarette having a good old time. Well all of a sudden, my car fills with the tell tale police car lights, then I hear the sirens. My heart sank, I slowed to probably 40 miles and hour, and burst into tears. I was so freaked out cause I did not have a drivers lisence at the time. Then all of a sudden, as I was trying to figure out what on earth I was going to do, the cop sped past me. Evidently he had somewhere else to be. I cried the whole way home.

The second time, I still did not have a lisence, and was driving at around 10pm to taco bell. A cop had been behind me the whole way, and even pulled into the driveway with me. I was ok till he followed me into the taco bell parking lot. I calmed a bit when he followed me into the drive through, cause I just figured he wanted food. Once I got my food, I stopped right where you turn out to get my drink situated so it would not spill, when I got a tap on my window. There was the cop, I rolled down my window and burst into tears. I couldn't for the life of me figure out what I had done. He then said "miss, can I see your drivers lisence, registration, and proof of insurance." By then I was sobbing uncontrollably. The cop just laughed, said he was kidding, and handed me my credit card which I had dropped. *sigh*

So to answer your question, yes the two times I have dealt with the cops while driving, I did cry. I think its a fairly natural response. Everybody is different, but many ppl deal with panic, and shock with tears. Plus, many ppl believe that if they cry, the cop will feel sorry and either let them off, or be easier on them.

The last time I was pulled over I was having major issues with everything in life. My father in law had just died and my teenage daughter and I were in a big fight about her grades (our biggest fight EVER). When the officer pulled me over it was the proverbial 'straw'. I burst into tears and was sobbing so hard I could hardly speak. I just put my head down on the steering wheel and bawled. The poor officer didn't even know what hit him. He didn't even make me get out my registration. I think he said something about doing 60 down the mountain which was a 40mph speed zone. He handed me my license and said he hoped things would get better. Sweet man.

Usually, however, I've always gotten out of tickets by flirting. That's getting considerably harder now that I'm in my 40's.

Nope. The only times I have been stopped (speeding, sliding through a stop sign) I deserved to be stopped. I just got my info out and handed it over.
