I know this sounds crazy, but it works. Get a bottle of toilet bowl cleaner and squirt it on the stains. They will disappear without even wiping them. But make sure it is well-venilated in the area. Hope this helps.

There are specific products for rust removal, have you tried them? I've used them on a porcelain tub, not sure if they'd work on plastic. If you've already tried the rust removers, it may be impossible, I can't think of anything else to try. Ask at a hardware store, Home Depot, etc.

I use a product called "The Works" Tub and Shower Cleaner. I sprayed it on the rust stain, waited 5 minutes and rinsed it off. Rust stain gone!! I obtained the product from Walmart.

Turtle wax polishing compound (for fibreglass) and then car wax over the entire thing after... water beads and it really helps in keeping it clean down the road.
