The XBox 360 and the PS3 both have incredible systems that will produce amazing games. But in the end the console that has the best selling games will be determined by the exclusive rights.
To answer your question i personally think XBox have the better quality games meaning:
- Better graphics
- Better game play
- Sound
But in the end it doesn't matter. The most important thing is your own personal choice and the exclusive rights of each consoles.
Examples:
1. PS2 vs. XBox: PS2 had the rights of Rockstar which means they had the Grand Theft Auto series to PS2. (This made the PS2 out sell XBox by a large number).
2. XBox 360 vs. PS3: The XBox 360 now owns some incredible gaming rights:
- Gears of War (Game of 2006)
- Halo series (Waiting for Halo 4)
- Grand Theft Auto IV (rumered - i've read in a XBox 360 Australia magazine that they now have the rights to Rockstar which means they will release Grand Theft Auto IV earlier or the same time as PS3.
*Remember: The war between PS2 and XBox was won by exclusives rights to games, and PS2 has won that war by selling larger numbers of games. Grand Theft Auto: Vice City, Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas, Grand Theft Auto III are in the top 5 best selling games of all time. And all three of them are the rights to PS2*

xbox 360 i think this time the 360 will win. many because of the good games that are on xbox 360 at the moment
Gears of War- the best game on 360 at the moment
Lost planet- really cool game and mainly because of the snow
Ghost Recon Advanced Warfigther- the First game was amazing it put the 360 on the map to start off with and with the second one coming out for 360 at the moment things look great
Dead rising- exclusive to 360 and a hell lot of fun
Project Gotham Racing 3- it might not be as good a gran turismo but it is a good game and the best looking racing game at the moment.
The future
Halo 3- if you owned xbox you would have HALO and HALO 2 if not you was just weird. Halo 3 is going to be the best game when it comes out for 360 and i want it know
Halo wars - a Halo RTS
GTA4- is coming out on the same date as the PS3
Next Gears of war- is going to be better then the orignal.
The test for xbox 360 will be when game like Metal gear Solid 4 comes out which will be a big game when it comes out
but there some great games for both consoles that are coming out
Assian Creed- looks so cool
Bioshock - weird FPS
Gta4- GTA no over reason
Next Burnout - i love burnout
and a whole lot more

The ps3 is a better system, however there are not a lot of models in production. This is making game developers more cautious to release games on the ps3 because there are not a lot of models.
On the other hand, the xbox 360 has sold more consoles, so more games have been sold.
My personal opinion is that the ps3 is better, but I have always liked Sony products. But, if you want more variety of games with the next-gen consoles, go with the xbox 360.

XBOX 360. Hands down. I'm buying one with 1-2 games next month in March. The promoters for the PS3 and the Wii have been focusing more on how "cool" the console machine is itself, rather than focusing on working these video game companies to produce more interesting games that have a high percentage rate of attracting more people to buying the console(s). The games they have now, in my opinion, are nothing to jump up and scream about. (Wario Ware? - Wii, Call of Duty 3? - PS3)

The 360 reigns supreme, PS3 does not have better graphics, if you look at comparisons online there are differences between the 2 but neither is clearly better.
PS3 may have free online access, but that won't last seeing as Sony are selling the consoles at a loss in the first place.
Be aware that Sony hyped the PS2 up to look better than it did. It was still a great machine but not as good as they would have us believe.
Value for money has to be the 360.

For now, it'll be Xbox 360. More and more games are coming out for the Xbox 360. For PS3, you'll have to wait and the blueray disc is so expensive!!! I rather stick to Xbox 360. =)

xbox 360 has been out for a while, so it has more games. PS3 has better graphics. Both are backwards compatible; PS3 gives you online access for free, xbox you have to subscribe.
