Ah, the memories come flooding back. I was well acquainted with the (late, lamented) record holder, Wullie Lynch. He was in my Latin class at school until Mr McCutcheon threw him out for his heroic efforts to translate all known sweary words into the language of Virgil and Cicero.
Wullie was an organised chap and trained for many months before his ill-fated attempt on 15th June 1999 on Saltcoats beach.
Within an hour, he had disposed of almost all of the jellyfish.
Things seemed to be going well until suddenly, as if from nowhere, a large, very angry Portuguese Lady of War (presumed to be the mate of the half eaten corpse) swooped from the water and sank her tentacles into Wullie's a*se. Screaming in agony, Wullie quickly stuffed the rest of the jellyfish into his mouth as he was swept into the sea, locked in a deadly grip.
His body was found 2 days later at Troon, with large and unpleasant lesions to the a*se area.
His wife never recovered from the trauma. She relocated to Portugal, and can been seen to this day rowing up and down the coast, harpoon in hand, waiting for her moment of revenge.

It takes me about 5 mins. but that is only because I get an Ice cream headache if I eat it too fast. I like the Orange Man of War best

The ones that are the most to squeal are the ones that don't want any one to know what they really like! My friends cousin would always say, "Oh how gross how can you eat fish raw!". Well guess who we saw in a Sushi bar two towns over????? His excuse was that he did not want us to think there was something wrong with him!
