what is the difference between "company" and "firm" professional answer please?

A firm is an intellectual brain trust. They are people who give intellectual support to the clients, either be it legal service, consulting, or other professional help. They do not produce a product to sell, and are not service industry. By their nature they are not that large.
Company's usually produce an item to sell.
