Oh honey, get off depo provera.
Get on birth control pills or use condoms. I know so many people who waited YEARS to get their periods back after being on depo..
The drug was originally designed to treat mental patients in looney bins to make them sterile(unable to have kids).
Look it up online. And talk to you doctor. There are other methods of birth control.
That said, No, I doubt you are pregnant. Most women wait a while before their cycle gets back to normal after being on that awful drug.

Yes, it's possible but a part of me doesn't think that you could be as it normally takes anywhere from 6-12 months to "typically" get pregnant after using depo provera.
Like other answers have stated, I too had a lot of problems conceiving after getting off of the shot. While I know it's defiantly not in your mind to become pregnant now think about the future. It could take you and your future husband up to five years to conceive OR you could become infertile just because you didn't want to get pregnant way back when.
I know there are some great cases but sadly, the majority of the doctors and patients I have talked to about depo provera have noticed a long wait to become pregnant. When signing the consent you'll notice in small writing "May cause infertility." I'm sorry but I don't know if I would choose such a harsh BC method that I would even risk not being able to have children.
I know that isn't what you were looking for I just want you to be aware of the problem a majority of provera users face. Luckily, I was able to have a child within two years of getting off the shot--a bit longer of a wait but a baby none the less. Just take a moment to think about it!

Quote: "Medroxyprogesterone acetate (depo) at high doses is an anti-fertility drug and high doses would be expected to impair fertility until the cessation of treatment."
It is also used to chemically castrate sex criminals in some countries in the Far East and in the US, and as a cancer (endometrial or renal carcinoma) treatment in the US.
I was on it for three jabs and it took me a couple of years to have periods again.
So the answer is no. Unless you are going to be the first woman in the world whose body is so insusceptible to depo that 2 days makes a difference. You could probably miss your shot by 2 months and not get pregnant I'm afraid.
There are exceptions to the rule, as will all contraceptives, but it's so unlikely to happen. It is 99.7% effective.
Even according to the makers website you can get your next shot 11-13 weeks after the last one. It doesn't have to be exactly 12 weeks, and you can get pregnant a year after stopping.
I believe it takes approximately 6-12 months for every shot you have before your body is again fertile, so if you have 3 shots it will take between 18 months and 3 years before you can get pregnant after stopping them.
Another side effect is weight gain, the average woman gains approximately 30lbs whilst using depo, I think I gained about 25lbs.
It also causes a decrease in bone density and should not be used for longer than two years.
Certainly either use the pill, have an IUD or implants.

I am posting to give you a different side of view. I am on Depo and used it for about 7 years (after my son whos now 11). I also have a baby girl who is 7 weeks old. I love Depo and hasn't caused me any problems regarding infertility. Though, it does take a while to get your period back.
On to your question...I think there is always a slim possibility on getting pregnant. There are people that have gotten pregnant while on Depo, so assuming that you aren't or can't get pregnant, especially if you missed getting is, just isn't right.
You definately need to call your doc, and go get it ASAP if you still want to be on it. Good Luck

I agree with the two other posters to some degree. But I got pregnant while ON depo. So be careful. and if you try to get off of it it can take years to get back to normal.

i disagree with newfie.... i highly doubt depo used to be a drug for sterilization on mentally ill patients. that's just ridiculous. where's your resources, newfie? i was on depo for three years and i have 2 beautiful, healthy girls and i'm 8 weeks pregnant.
to answer your question though, it is very unlikely you would become pregnant after missing a shot. it takes longer for your cycle to become normal again. i know of a few people, myself included, that didn't get preggo for at least a year after stopping the depo shots. good luck though.

No. I was on the depo shot for 3 years and i never did miss my 12 week appointment but they did tell me not to ever be no more than 14 weeks late in between shots.
