Excuse me I thought it was Palastinian land originally that the Israelis are defending. The Israeli,s are never the aggressers are they.I was in the Lebanon in 1982 and I know who was bombing who and whos fighter planes were shooting the tops off of the Mosques, and there were many children killed when refugee camps were bombed. So don't put it all on the Arabs.II was a serving soldier in the British Army sent from Cyprus to Lebanon 1982.

Trust me on this - I am no great fan of George W Bush, however I don't think this issue should be used as a stick to beat him with. Consider these things...

Has Israel threatened to utterly destroy her neighbours? Does she have a doctrine that believes in the destruction of any of the surrounding states? How many times has she been attacked by the Arabic nations around her, bent on destroying her? Can you understand now why she has acquired a nuclear deterrent.

Now ask the same questions about Iran and see how different the answers are. If you are not just plain blinkered and biased you might just catch a slight difference there.

Remember Mutually Assured Destruction (the belief that first use would create a no win scenario and therefore prevents first use of nukes) only works when the nation does not have a martyr complex and mentality. I am positive this is the case for Israel - however having remembered the sights of Millions of Iranian troops during the Iraq - Iran war - going to their deaths against their technologically superior enemy who were slaughtering them in droves - and observing the extremist Islamic suicide bombers at work I'm not so convinced the same can be said of that nation.

ETA So if you were in The Lebanon you would know that the Arab Syrians backed the Muslim insurgents to overthrow a Christian government. In this time I was in contact with two Lebanese students who were at college with me. I saw the photographs of the rocket damage done to The University there - where one had been the Principle. In the Lebanon you jolly well know that the Islamic troops were trained by and arms supplied by Syria - don't be so naive and biased. Oh yes and how many times have Islamic fighters used Mosques as a strong point to fight from? The Israeli jets probably had good reason to target these - and yes I have served in The Gulf - don't be so blinkered by your own propaganda.

Iran is nice. for sure Israel nuclear threatens center East. everybody is favourite with that.... Iran can say it because Iran's excellent chief has announed (and ordered) that Use of nuclear guns is Haram (forbidden). So Iran isn't gonna have such guns.... Israel itself has nuclear guns.... And continually communicate about Iran even as Iran has allowed the UN nuclear brokers to visit nuclear centers in Iran and everybody presented there is no difficulty with that.

Excuse me, Lebanon was a Christian country in the 70s, and look what Hezbullies have done to the country. Israel is a democratic country which was given to them by the UN. Arabs have 57 countries,do you want the world? Israel is about as big as Wales, that's all, not much land is it? Palestinians ought to stop moaning and get on with developing a successful country. UK and USA have donated billions to Palestinians over the decades only for Arafat to hive it off into Swiss banks for his wife and offspring to live in absolute luxury to which we can't even imagine. get your facts right and look into what the Palestinians have done. One never hears of Israeli suicide bombers, do they?

Israel are protecting themselves against the ever-aggressive and hate filled Arabs who just want to get those "Kufrs" off what they feel is "their" land. If the Israelis were all Muslims they wouldn't care. Its the old "Islam against the world" thing.

I'm sick of Islamiscists holding the world to ransom with a bomb and then crying "oppression" when someone stands up to them. How many Israeli kids have those suicide bomber nutters murdered?!?

I'd support Israel over the Arabs any day.

Yes, Iran should spend billions on a nuclear deterrent program. Clearly your economy would benefit from such a endeavor.

Israel does not threaten any country. Whatever action they have ever taken are in reaction and in self defence. They have nuclear weapon, no doubt, but will never use it arbiterarily. But we know that Iran will use it if it gets it since its leader has sworn to eliminate Israel.
