Wow. I was under the impression that you always had top have matching gear ratios in the front and rear. If they were different, wouldn't that mean that the front wheels had to spin at a different speed from the rears?

you MUST have the same gear ratio in frnt and rear u cannot run different size tires either as that will not engage ur 4+4 unit

If you place the same gears in front and rear, you're doing what you're supposed to. What's the trouble?

Your gears are supposed to be the same in the front as the back, you are also supposed to use the same size tire as well. if you don't you are liable to cause damage to your drivetrain when using the 4wd.
