I don't have a favourite, but want to give a special mention to Tina Turner. With the **** she had to deal with, she kept rockin' on. You may consider this disco, but when you know what Tina went thru, you can feel her anger & anguish just belt through her songs. My 2 favourites are:

Nutbush City Limits
There are so many incredible female artists, I just respect this one so much.
