All cars over three years old need an MOT. Please note it is illegal to drive a car without an MOT, and, that if you don't have an MOT your insurance will be invalid too.

look at when it was registered day month and year so if it was done on the 5th of April 2004 you will need an mot by that date this year. just because it does not need an mot for the first three years it don't mean its road worthy and as it the first mot you may find it the worst one cost wise unless it has been regularly serviced.

Three years after the date of registration on the V5 unless used as a taxi then it has to be done one year after registration on the V5

Check the V5 could be due now or even overdue

ps Check your log book for the registration date is 2004.
MOT is due 3 years from that date.
so book it in 2 weeks before, just in case!!

On it's third birthday, which will be on or after 1st March this year.
Have a look for the date of registration on your V5 (log book).
