I have 3 cats, 3 rabbits, 2 parakeets, 3 kids 14,6&4, one husband
I think thats a full house and I'm considering adopting a 4th rabbit that has been offered to me. My mother in law has 2 cats 1 black lab and 1 huskey mix. both are good with her cats and mine when they visit. They are gentle with her cats and we have cute pictures of the cats curled up in a ball sleeping with the dogs
the added bonus is that the dogs interact great with the children from infantcy on. hope this helps. I feel that if you have the space, the funds to properly feed ,provide shelter, and proper medical treatment for the more the merrier

we have 4 cats and 1 dog. Generally, the bigger the dog, the better. Small dogs tend to be hyper. Cats tend to be quiet and do not like the excitement from little hyperactive dogs. Also the suggestion to get the dog as a puppy is good as well, even though we adopted our (95 lb) dog from the pound as an adult and she gets along fine with all the cats (and the 2 ferrets we used to have).

If you raise any breed of dog around the cats he will get along with them fine..it's the cats you will have to worry about being nice to him. They will get used to him but more than likely you will have to force contact for them to interact nicely.Good luck.

Rule of thumb. You can bring a cat into a dogs world but not a dog into a cats world.

our cats are fine with all our animals(all 15 of them), but that may be casue they were raised with them. As long as the dog is fine with the cats, like it doesnt pick on them, it will be fine. You can ask to have a trial with the dog so you know it will get along

You cannot predict ahead whether a dog will get along with cats. This varies from dog to dog, breed has nothing to do with it.

as long as you either get a puppy or one that is already used to cats they should be fine but you need to make sure the cats will accept the dog before you bring it home... my cats will not allow me to have dogs they just simply dont like them.... but each cat is diff..

besides the actual shown reality that your canine might want to stay on your backyard, some visitors might want to no longer be smooth in the adventure that they are going to be using the backyard in some unspecified time sooner or later interior the homestead warming and also you received't have time to freshen up after them in the course of the social gathering. I propose that you Board them on your community kennel on the day previously the social gathering and %. them up the day after the social gathering. Make the reservations properly in strengthen of the date for the social gathering so that you'll be able to look into the ability the position your animals will be staying and practice your motorized vehicle for his or her secure shipping.
