It depends on ur age, lactating a newborn or not. Truly speaking, It could b a minor thing having relation with ur menstrual cycle due to hormonal changes to major one, a type of cancer. If it has relation with ur menstrual cycle, probably u need not to worry hard, provided u do not have fever or informatory changes in ur affected boob. If u r lactating a new born, u may have lactational mastitis. Not having any intention to make u scare, it may b a sort of cancer. U also didn't mention about any discharge u have from that boob.
What u need to do is to have self examination of ur both boobs. Make out if there is any lump ot otherwise. U need to see a general sergeon that's what i think to suggest u.

I get very sharp pains for around 5 days a month usually a week before my period. They started about 6 months ago and they are very painful and often i cannot bend down and have restricted movement. the nurse found that it was just hormonal changes that were causing them but I get them every month now and there isnt much they can do. It could be a number of things and is always best to go to the doctors just to put your mind at ease if the pain continues.

Boob pain usually happened before & after your period. But if it occur always, it's better to see a doctor. Do check your breast after your period. Check it in front of your mirror. When you check on your right breast, lift your right hand up and use 3 fingers to touch around it, and this goes the same to the left breast. U can also check whether is there any out of shape and as well as the nipple. Is there any fluid?

Last time, my breast do have some sharp pain and I went to see a female doctor and she teaches me this. It's better to consult a doctor if the pain is getting worst.

If you have been playing with it or wearing an uncomfortable bra, dont worry. If it just happend, give it a day or two, I am sure it will go away. If not, see a Dr just to be on the safe side.
