I doubt anyone minds genuine people giving incorrect answers, but why bother coming on to say they don't understand what is being asked? With insults to boot.

Then there's the grammar nuts. They don't know anything else so spend their time nit picking.

What are these people trying to prove?

People are probably just trying to earn points and fill up their days! Plus of course everyone on here is brave as nothing is face to face you can say what you want (I think that's why so many appear to be rude).

I don't mind the spelling and grammar correctors. They have their place, but there is no point in openly abusing people about it.

However i don't understand why people post an answer to a question without reading the question properly. They just go off in a rant about some vaguely connected subject.

I often post questions that have additional details because they are complex issues. Very few people actually pause for a minute to read it. I'm guessing most are in a zombie vegatative state by clicking too much.

I must remind you that many of the people answering, do not have English as mother language, therefore it is very easy to misunderstand a question and give a wrong answer. Eventually, they make grammar mistakes.

It is true that it is difficult for me to understand why they bother to answer "what do you mean?' or "eh?". If they do not understand a question, there are so many others that they will definitely understand!! I agree with you.

I believe the sad thing is they don't want to prove anything...
It is just boredom.

I would have thought that the very nature of this site is to evoke argument and/or freedom of expression in the spirit of good/clean happy fun!!

Surely everyone is entitled to an opinion.

Here is a story of four people:

Everybody, Somebody, Anybody and Nobody.

There was an important job to be done and Everybody was asked to do it.
Everybody was sure Somebody would do it. Anybody could have done it but Nobody did.

Somebody got angry about that because it was Everybody’s job.
Everybody thought Anybody could do it but Nobody realized that Everybody would not do it.

It ended up that Everybody blamed Somebody when actually Nobody asked Anybody

just building up points (what for?) and taking their frustrations out on others. They might be having a bad day or a bad life. You can check their questions and answers and find out just where they're "coming from." Sometimes I find a lot of them have just logged on to the program. Sometimes I discover they're not as smart as they think they are. lol. Most of us aren't. They "irk" me too.

They get 2 points - no "trying to prove" anything, it's an easy way to get your level up.

And there's nothing wrong with correcting grammar. It's up to the questioner whether they choose to take the advice or ignore it.

I agree with your first question...people should only answer questions they know something about (or THINK they know something about).

But your second question is kind of 'retarded' (sounds good using retarded to describe a question). Lots of really negative consequences can result from faulty use of the language. If you have grown up in this country, you should at least be able to write and speak the language so others can understand you!!

i know where you're coming from. if you don't understand a question, then don't answer it and only answer ones that you DO understand. it makes better sense and anyway those that do do this, do so because of the 2 points and giving such crappy, abusive and often nasty answers. its best to give them the thumbs down and move on

you'll tend to find that ya hands will get very slippy and greasy if you try to do that too much.although this can have some benefits in the long run taking a bit more time about it could be alot more beneficial.
hope that helps.
