you can do this with layer blending on photoshop and master opacity change options

1) You need to put the top image onto its own layer.
2) Make sure that all parts of that image around the face is deleted leaving just the part you want to display.
3) Change the opacity of that layer using the slider in the layers section to display as required.
4) Make sure layer is in correct position by placing above the other image.
It's really just that simple.
