Has anybody tried physiotherapy or massages or any alternative treatments as I don't want to be taking ibuprofen all the time. Thanks

Therapy is a great help!
I'd also try putting a hand towel in VERY hot water from your sink, wringing it out, and then putting it on your neck. It might feel like it's burning at first, but will soon cool. Keep doing this for about 1/2 hour. Try this 4-5 times a day. The moist heat really works wonders. (I've also tried the microwaveable wraps, but they just don't work as well).
The ibuprofen will also help...especially if take it right before going to bed at night.

Good luck!

I'm a massage theraist and treat a lot of people with auto injuries. Ligaments attach bone to bone and take a long time to heal. Massage can help relax the muscles surrounding the injury, make SURE you are cleared by the doctor before you get it though. I work for a chiropractor and we set people up with physical therapy when they are ready. Rest is very important too. Ask your doctor about alternatives to help in your recovery. Good luck!

Massage is great for neck problems as long as the action doesnt aggrevate it.
Ibuprophen is short term and okay as long as you eat something first.
I used massage, heat and medication and time.

Acupuncture was a life saver for me.
You must rest and let this resolve itself. Taking antiinflams will only be short term..
