I think they did fairly fine,
They beat the NFC favorite Panthers, they ave Rex Grossman the hell game of his life, and proved he can't play under great defense, they lost games they should have won (49ers, Packers, Bills)
If you really think they need WR, then you haven't really seen the Patriots, they don't have any good WR, but Tom Brady makes them look like gods.
I think the Vikings are a tough team, and if you ask any other team, they'll say the same time. They had ranked 1 Rush D last year, and with Chad Greenway to give them speed, they should do better with the Pass D.
I would also worry about a future Corner, and Safety, there starters are getting older now, and a bit slower.

I live up in Fargo, N.D., but we are so close to the Twin Cities that I can speak with some knowledge about the Vikes.
Where do I start? The Vikings need a new quarterback. Brad Johnson's pretty much washed up if you ask me. He stands like a statue back in the pocket, looks around to pass, and then gets sacked rather routinely. He doesn't scramble around much.
The Vikings had a pretty good defense this past season; but when you have an offense that has trouble scoring from inside the 20 yard line, it's going to be a long season.
The Vikings new owner Zygi Wilf wants to win in the worst way. His big focus right now is to secure funding for a new stadium in downtown Minneapolis for the Vikings to replace the Metrodome. So far he's gotten a rather chilly reception with Minnesota legislators on that subject.
As far as head coach Brad Childress goes. He had a pretty shaky rookie season. A strong start and then the Vikings simply blew it and fell out of playoff contention. My guess is Childress gets one more season to turn things around or Wilf will cut him loose at the end of this coming season. I don't think Wilf will sit around and settle for mediocrity for much longer.
As they say, stay tuned.

I think they're on the verge, they have the potential. It may take a couple more years but if they can work on their pass defense and get a high draft quarterback, they'll be in the thick of it. I'm a little worried about Childress and his communication problems though. Somebody really needs to nail him on that.

They need to get a QB that is under 75 for one. They also need some WR help. But even if they get that it may not make a difference, the Vikings are one of the NFL's all-time biggest chokers year after year. That won't change.

No I think the franchise plain out sucks. Remember a couple years back when the Vikings led the NFC north until the very last second of the last game against Arizona? Case in point, they have no real talent and can't get it done when it counts.
Go Pack!!
