I know what you're doing. You're using subtle allegory, and metaphors in an attempt to stop me leaving the house wearing The gorilla suit, aren't you? You just think I look silly.
Well, maybe I want people to stare, and in that one instance, call the dog catcher. Maybe I like the attention.
Maybe it's because since I've been spending fourteen hours a day in front of the computer, eating nothing but pizza, and drinking nothing but generic brand cola, none of my other clothes fit.
I'm sure people look you up and down, and that's flattering. As for the disapproving looks, they're actually frowning, because they know they 'd never stand a chance of looking as good as you do. Some people are just born with natural style, and some aren't. Take it from me, I wear a gorilla suit. They call me Mr. Style (at the dog pound, anyway...).

When people see something they aren't used to, even if they accept it, they are going to look. Foir instance. If your town has had almost exclusively white people, they will stare at a Sudanese refugee just out of sheer curiosity.
It's the same with goths and suspected Satanists in a small christian town. Odd things attract curiosity.
Come up with a few good lines when they look at you funny. But obviously you must know why people are staring. Get up in their face and ask what their problem is, but not so much that they are likely to smack you.
Personally I stare at people as I walk down the street as secretly I'm insecure
I don't trust people. =) That and when you stare back, they feel uncomfortable.

It may not be disapprovement. People stare at me all the time and when I walk past they look round and still stare. But its not sisaprovement. Its wonder, admiration, respect. Ok I am in China but the principle is the same. Enjoy the attention. Let them look.

I think people do stare more these days, before someone would see you looking and quickly look away now they just keep looking at you. If you feel someone is looking at you with a look of disapprovement, smile at them it puts them off completely because they don't expect that reaction. Try it, it works.

Well, take a good look at yourself in the mirror. You don't have a buger in your nose, do you? Or, is your underwear showing? Do you have a sock static-clinged to your back? Is there bird turd on your shoulder? If all is ok, then I think maybe they are just envious of how you look or something. Or maybe your style is a bit different. Then, if they don't like it, guess what? Toooooo Bad!!! As long as you like it, thats all that really matters!

in my opinion it's just you...
of course people will look at you. they may seem to look as if they don't like your style but believe me they look like that because their either surprised to see you walk down the street with a spark, or envious of your appearance.
they would not have an up-to-down look if they do not agree to your fashion. if they hate how you look they might as well laugh. but they didn't then it's a positive. they gave you a raised-eyebrow look because they think you look a lot better than them.
you're just being conscious of how you look because their eyes seem to roll on your style. but trust me on this one, girl you must look fabulous if not, they would have sniggered not raised eyebrows.

well it depends on wot ur wearing really. ppl r stupid and dont seem to like it if sum1 dresses out of place in their eyes. or if u have a disability ppl tend to stare as well. my lil daughter has down syndrome and ppl stare at us all time. especially if im telling her off for runnin away or sumthin. to me she is just like the rest of my kids but ppl r always quick to judge. either that or ur just paranoid.

I know exactly what you mean, I often say to my G/F "Have I got two heads"because people do tend to stare.I just ignore it,you would be better off doing the same, before you start getting paranoid.

yeah, I've experienced exactly the same thing and it makes me kind of self-conscious because I don't know if they think I look weird or what, but I don't think it should be taken personally, it's just seems to happen sometimes

I suspect something about your appearance attracts their attention and/or suspicion - do you have a penchant for unusual clothes, hairdo, makeup? Or are you just incredibly beautiful, and they are consumed with jealousy?
