Well, as Indians we do care, & believe that India is surely going to be in the list of developed countries on or before 2020, well presently except few things rest all is going pretty well as it should be. But, I believe it is not only the duty of our Government to work for the development of the country, but it is the duty of every citizen. We should properly follow our rights & duties towards our mother land but, before that we must know what our duties towards our country are. Even Government is just like us, it is not a machine or a Robert.
Last but not the least; India will be the Godfather for this whole world in coming years, not only in science & technology but in all good aspects. Well 2 things we will miss in our country & that would be beautiful beaches & Islands like in other countries.

Why not? India is developing in many areas rapidly. It's bureaucracies hold it back. If it can reduce those and reduce population a bit it may. But remember with jobs and technology come higher wages and needs. Eventually like Japan the field of play will even out. China and India will both face this. The only thing going is that the population of both countries is huge. This will keep wages down. It's a matter of supply and demand. Their is a large supply of workers so the demand is less.
India will have to reduce it's population and find a balance.

I do. I believe that, as a student in India, the responsibility is mine, and my peers, to try to develop the nation. Unfortunately, as of now, everything depends on a big 'if', i.e., 'If Indians believe that they should do something for the country', or 'If Indians start doing something for the country', 'cause little ol' me can only do so much, unless I meet a lot more people with a similar frame of mind. I still think that we can do it, though.

Yes ofcourse, when we compare current status with 2020 India will be a developed nation... But when comparing INDIA with other developed nations of today on 2020... We are not... This is what going to happen on 2020.. Untill we never realise.. what is real growth is.... One side we are earning foreign exchange by selling powerfull youth's energy, attitude, strength and their precious potency of making INDIA as a super power.. In call centers, BPo's and software companies... but on the other side we are exporting all good , quality and quantity comodities in agro... along with powerful youths to work for them... And spending foreign exchange we got by these ways on importing technology from them... Like computer and electronic items... Sending children to abroad because of not having quality education in INDIA.... The incoming foreign exchane is lower than outgoing... It must be stoped by taking measures like Abdul kalam said in his book... I am feared whether his book will remain a book or it will become reality.... It is possible for INDIA to become a super power when KALAM's book becomes real within next or this year itself... otherwise it is not possible even in our dreams.... THE ROOT OF GROWTH FOR ANY NATION WILL BE THE SCHOOLS..... Look at the current situation of schools of our nation on www.pratham.org and download ASER2006 report. You will find what is the condition of our educational system... Then decide whether INDIA will become super power on 2020 or not..

YES,AS IT IS THE FASTEST DEVELOPING NATION IN THE WORLD.THE SPEED OF DEVELOPMENT OF INDIA IS MORE THAN AMERICA,WHICH IS THE MOST DEVELOPED NATION IN THE WORLD. IT DEVELOPS 9TO 10 PERCENT IN A YEAR WHILE THE OTHER COUNTRIES DEVELOP 6 TO 7 PERCENT IN A YEAR.WE SHOULD NEVER THINK THAT THE INDIA IS A UNDEVELOPED NATION AS IT IS COUNTED IN THE DEVELOPED NATIONS. WE ARE LAGING BEHIND BUT THE SPEED OF DEVELOPMENT OF INDIA IS FASTER THAN OTHER NATIONS AND IF THIS WILL BE THE SPEED I AM SURE THAT IT WILL BE THE MOST POWERFUL AND DEVELOPED NATION IN THE WORLD.

Your fooling yourself if you think they are not a developed nation right now. sure there are vast areas where people live like it's a third world country. Have you ever seen people in rural Arkansas or Louisiana?
