Hello, I am married and was just wondering how much other people have spent on their weddings.

I had a nice outside ceremony and a backyard reception for around $500 AU

MY wife and I had been gating for a while. When I proposed to her we were flying in my plane at 5000 feet at about 10 PM over Atlanta when I asked the controller if I could use about 30 seconds of his airtime, I proposed and she accepted over a nationwide radio frequency. Including that flight and the other wedding cost ours cost about $20,000 and worth every penny. I owned a fly-in community and now WE own it and had the ceremony there in her mothers home I had built for her. My now wife had only flown one time until I came along. Now we fly a lot.

My wife and I tried as hard as we could to have a cheap but classy ceremony for under 50 people. We also wanted it to be on a beach. between the location, catering, music and photography we got out of it just under 10 grand. We cut costs everywhere we could but all the little crap just kept addint up. It made us realize just how expensive some of our friends' big weddings were.
